This has happened twice now and i need to know how i can correct it.
1st it happened with the Victoria Regina deck. I didn't have a back.jpg of the same size of the card deck images so the program used a default card back that is a wider, squarer image. So, i put the back.jpg image in the folder and refreshed but now the deck shows the images distorted to fit the same size as the default orphalese back card image. I tried deleting the .xml files in the folder and then refreshing them but this didn't fix it. I also tried removing the deck then adding it again and this still didn't fix it.
Then it happened with a 2nd deck (the Haindl tarot). Again, i didn't have a back image in the folder so it used the default back card image which distorts all the images to a wider, shorter, squarer image. Again i tried to fix it to no avail.
Help!!!
Thanks in advance to any who can help with this.

Re: Re: Re: default card back file and changing card sizes
i can select deck management but haven't seen anything there that will fix it
i can select general options for that specific deck and i see where it has a fixed size and unfixed size but selecting unfixed doesn't help and if i select fixed it doesn't allow me to select what size to fix it at.

Hello,
First, let me say welcome home!
Second, click on the deck you're using, then click on the + or - keys to increase or decrease the size of the cards..........
(I got caught with the same problem until I think it was Cowhead pointed it out to me.....)
Take Care,
Marvin

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: default card back file and changing card sizes
no, i know how to change the size of the deck in that way... how do you change the height/width ratio?
For instance, the haindl cards measure around 197 X 362 . However, since it didn't have an image of the back of the card when i first installed the folder for the deck, Orphalese used a default back card image that measures 323 X 323. All the other images in the deck now have shortened and stretched to match the 323 X 323 ratio. I added the back image of the deck with the 197 x 362 ratio and the deck still keeps all the cards, including the newly added back of the card image, as 323 X 323. I tried uninstalling the folder and reinstalling it, restarting the computer, deleting the xml folders and letting Orphalese reinstall new ones, and switching the general option for the deck from fixed size to unfixed sizes and it still keeps the deck images as 323 X 323 when it displays them.
This also happened with the Victoria Regina deck when i installed it. I guess that if no back image exists in a deck folder then Orphalese uses a default image and then displays the deck in that default image ratio. The information for the ratio of images must exist somewhere in the program that keeps them at that ratio even after uninstalling the deck. I could just start over completely like an update and see if that would fix it but i don't want to go to that extreme.

Well since you said you did't find any fix...I will try again (can't promisse it will fix though:))
Choose the deck that is wrong
Hit F9
You get 2 chooises...take current deck
now up right you will find an option...fix deck size for current deck....try this option to see.
Never needed to try it out, thats why I am asking you:):)

Re: default card back file and changing card sizes
Hi Kenn,
It is important that when you design a deck or add a card back to an existing deck that all the cards, including the back, are the same size and shape, or this kind of problem can occur. What I think you will find is happening is that all the cards take their cue from the 00 card, which is one of the reasons it is very important that every deck has one of these. This means that the back will also be distorted to the width height ratio of the zero card.
I should also point out that there is no default orphalese back image as such. The Options form can be used to set a preference for a colour gradient or a repeating tile, but this is used by the program to create a card back on the fly (again, taking the cue for size and shape from the 00 card).
Does this explain what is happening? If not, please send me a screen shot (or even email me the full deck) to answers@orphalese.net and I will take a look.
Cheers
Richard

Re: Re: default card back file and changing card sizes
Yes, this appears to explain what has happened. In this case Orphalese created a card back on the fly. But it didn't take the card cue from the 00 card because it was named 0.jpg instead of 00.jpg. I renamed it to 00.jpg, refreshed and the cards images appear in their proper ratio. Thanks!
