G'day all!
Just wanted to wish everyone good luck and also to mention that I posted up one of my spreads called Celtic Trees as an entry to the comp.
Did a reading and here's what came out of it.
Card #1
OAK IN THE REALM OF THE BIRCH (opportunity)
The mighty Oak tree announces an opportunity to show great strength and spiritual resolve. Stand firm and be patient... Big trees grow from small acorns and these things take time.
Card #2
ASH (Rx) IN THE REALM OF THE HAWTHORN (challenge)
The Ash (Rx) represents the axis mundi that links everything together. The problem at hand is the feeling of being disconnected, and a sense of insularity. There's a need to reach out and connect.
Card #3
HAZEL IN THE REALM OF THE VINE (intuition)
The filberts (or hazelnuts) contain concentrated wisdom, inspiration and creativity. Looking within reveals a deep seated desire to seek inspiration, wisdom, and to create opportunities for expansion and growth.
Card #4
HEATHER IN THE REALM OF THE FIR (advice)
The scent of the Heather heals the heart and awakens passion. In order to attract one's desires, one needs to mend old wounds and open up to love.
Card #5
BEECH (Rx) AS THE SEED (potential)
Beech wood was used in the creation of writing tablets. You are at risk of ignoring your past experiences and rehashing old ground. Look at your past mistakes to avoid future pitfalls and do not discount any advice given to you as old fuddy-duddies.
Would you believe I did this reading for myself and the question was about forging new friendships? (I've always had a hard time making friends, being a shy loner, and being an immigrant in a strange country makes it double-hard!)

Re: Re: Re: Entry Competition -Granny's Over-Alls
Granny Barb has uploaded her spread. I know it's simply wonderful, but make sure the judges understand that they still have to look at the other applicants spreads too. Snicker, snicker..LOL!
Have fun with it, and remember to let the reading flow back and forth through each row and balance it with your Perceiver Card! Do not chose that perceiver card! Let the deck talk to you!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Entry: Competition Judging........
Hi All!,
Is there a way to do this with a secret ballot? I suddenly realized that Richard is probably too busy right now to select judges.......
Any and all input is welcome!
Take Care,
Marvin

Re: (Sue & Barbara)
I saw a Poll feature at the speakeasy, that would work as a secret ballot! Everyone could vote for their favorite spread, and then we could post it for everyone to see......
Just my thoughts,
Marvin

Ah yes, the Speak Easy! A place to relax and have some fun!
Why not have a poll! I like that idea!
Pour me another fruit drink and tell me a lawyer joke, please! LOL

Weeeelllll maybe we shall take a look at our own proffesion and see how how we deal with life:)
Debbie visited a psychic of some local repute. In a dark and gloomy room, gazing at the tarot cards laid out before her, the tarot reader delivered the bad news:
There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just be blunt - prepare yourself to be a widow. Your husband will die a violent and horrible death this year.
Visibly shaken, Jennifer stared at the woman's lined face, then at the single flickering candle, then down at her hands. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself.
She simply had to know. She met the tarot reader's gaze, steadied her voice, and asked:
Will I get away with it?

Tarot Lightbulb Joke
Q: How many Major Arcana does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: All of them:
* The Fool has already started before anyone else is ready.
* The Magician assembles an array of objects that might be needed , displays them to best advantage and starts discussing how to go about it.
* The High Priestess sits in the background, knowing one thing is missing but says nothing.
* The Empress fusses around making sure it is safe and nobody gets hurt.
* The Emperor tells everyone he thinks it should be done right now and starts delegating responsibilities.
* The Hierophant offers advice on the missing part after consulting with the High Priestess.
* The Lovers umm and ahh about what wattage bulb to put in this time.
* The Chariot charges in and starts doing it himself regardless of the others' protests.
* Strength surreptitiously places what's needed into Chariot's hands and gets it done her way.
* The Hermit suggests a candle in a lamp would provide light in the meantime.
* The Wheel of Fortune laughs and reminds everyone that the light will need changing again in the future.
* Justice works out whose turn it is to change the light and whether the division of labour is being delegated fairly.
* The Hanged Man sits back and contemplates how darkness can change our lives.
* Death points out mournfully that this was bound to happen and how everything ends.
* Temperance tells Death to chill out, it all evens up in the end.
* The Devil tries to blame the Hanged Man for causing the light to blow and creates bad feelings all round.
* The Tower suddenly starts ripping out the original light fitting so he can create a whole new more basic look.
* The Star marvels at new beginnings and says how much she's looking forward to having the light working again.
* The Moon continually offers conflicting advice, confusing everyone until he wanders off to the relief of all.
* The Sun wants to redesign the whole room around a much brighter light.
* Judgement examines the globe to see whether it truly was its time to blow and ponders whether the globe can be recycled.
* The World suggests that any problems with the light are temporary: we had light once, we will have it again, and suggests focussing on the bigger picture.
Meanwhile, the Fool has already finished changing the light bulb and is off doing his own thing.
