Universal Love Oracle Carddata.xml is up

Post by purple_scorp »

Hi All,

I've just uploaded the carddata.xml file for the Universal Love Oracle.

I ended up taking the LWB pdf file that Sue uploaded, and using a Read/Write software program, read the notes into a microphone attached to my computer, which converted them into an .rtf file. This software also is able to read your type back to you, which made it easy when it came time to proofreading what had been converted.

Then, I cut and paste the individual notes into the F6 notes screen for each card.

Something else I discovered in the process is that Acrobat 7.0 is capable of reading a pdf file (although, I couldn't get it to read Sue's pdf file). But, this potentially means that I could open a card notes pdf file, get the computer to read it, while at the same time, record and convert it to text in the Read/Write software. Well, that's the plan anyhow....just got to work out a few things (like if you need to do something specifically to save the pdf in a readable format).

Watch this space.

Hi!

I've used Adobe Reader 6.0 to save as text many, many pdf files. Depending on the quality of the original, there is minimal clean-up needed. Also, the Tarot of Reflections LWB was scanned using OCR, a little clean-up and cut-and-paste to card notes. Either way is easy.

I've never had much luck with voice recognition software. What I have requires training it to each voice, which means the user must ennunciate each word exactly the same every time. Any inflection will cause jumbled text. Plus, background noise is a hinderence. It once tried to convert my cats meowing! I now know they DO speak French! .-)

I'd be willing to convert some of the existing LWB's. email me at elpasostar@gmail.com.

Many Blessings,
Christine
