No Parking

Post by PinkKitty »

Hi, I updated for fullscreen fix, now the deck won't park. Yes, I checked the options. Still won't park in the square- at all.

OK, it was just me. The deck was too large, lol. It does work.

I have seen something similar if the deck has an unusual shape too, like if it is wider than it is tall. It can be a bit harder to line up with the spot where it goes in.

yeah, for a few minutes I thought it was just me, maybe the deck was +sized too far. But it's official; it is almost impossible to park. The spot must be miniscule, because I have only manage once by almost throwing the deck there. I think I hit it by accident. On any real attempt to Park, it fails every time, regardless of deck size. I'm using standard decks, in standard sizes and shapes, not some round or wonky deck. Has something changed? I've never had a problem in the past.

I don't have any trouble with it, it makes me think that your screen resolution might have something to do with it. What is it set to? Maybe I could try same setting and see what happens...

it's at 1600 X 900, laptop. I also tried floating the screen, instead of keeping it at maximized, and that didn't help, either. Tried checking, then unchecking the box; no help. It's just not going in.

I just had the brainwave that it might be something to do with using it on a laptop, but I tried it on mine and it is not that. Another thought that occurs to me is that there is, or was a Windows settting that you could apply which meant that rather than dragging a whole window, you would appear to drag a rectangle on the screen that the window would move to when you moused up. I think it was called "Show windows content while dragging". I don't suppose it is that because it is not very much used now.

In the absence of anything that fixes the problem I think the easiest workaround would be to provide another way of parking the deck. The one that seems most obvious to me would be double clicking in the parking spot. I have made a note to put it in the next version.

Well, I have done that in the latest version. Double-clicking the parking square parks the deck. I realised there is also the option of Control+D to park and relaunch the deck (I had forgotten about that one!).

Thanks, I found the double click to park, and it works fine. Much appreciated!
