right clicking while dragging causes bug

Post by Xystron »

Sometimes, when I'm dragging a card off of the deck, i'll accidentally hit the right click button (my mouse is very sensitive). This seems to make the card stick to the mouse, and it won't stay on the spread, after I release the left mouse button. There seems to be little chance for it to release from the mouse at this point, so I have to quit the program and come back. Is it just my machine? Maybe my .net is out of date? It's with the latest version of Orphalese on Windows XP SP3.

Is there any way around this bug that anyone knows of? I've found one solution, if I'm desperate to save the spread, is to try to left click on the deck below the card that is sticking to the mouse. But there has to be a better way, because this can be quite difficult, as you have to zig zag the mouse back and forth.

Is there a menu setting that I'm missing that has to do with right click? It's supposed to flip the cards over, I know that.

BTW, your program is great, thanks!

Hi Xystron,

Glad you are enjoying the program. This is the first time I have heard of this happening (the mouse thing I mean, not somebody enjoying the program).

I tried to recreate it for myself but I couldn't get it to happen. One thing that occurs to me is that you might have accidentally activated the option to always begin dealing the card after dragging in Options (Options >> General Options >> Deck >> After Dealing Begin Drag). This is the only scenario I can think of where a card might stick to the mouse. This mode is meant to make it easier to deal for people who experience discomfort while using the mouse. The idea is the mouse goes down, the cursor changes to a dragging hand, you position the card, and then when the mouse comes up the card remains in place, so that is one complete mouse click instead of two the normal way, i.e. one to deal and another one to position the card. For the moment I can't think why else that would be happening.

If this doesn't solve the problem and it keeps happening, what happens if you try to return the card to the deck? Even if it is sticking to the mouse for some reason it should drop back into the pack if you position it right over the deck.

Anyone else experienced something similar?

Cheers,
Richard
