Maybe everyone was getting it. I just logged in and saw the server program had crashed, so I rebooted it now. It might have been down all day.

I know what you mean. I did the same search and it left me very dumbfounded... I have no proxy related settings and never had. I think the most confusing thing for me is that the last version I registered (8.3 I believe) gave me no problem at all when it went through to it. To check, I uninstalled and reinstalled it (the 8.3) and it even told me the equivalent of "why do you want to re-register... you're already registered!" (but not in those words obviously). And you are right, the Deck exchange gives me the same error message in the latest version...Programmer wrote:I did an internet search and from what I can gather it is probably happening because you are connecting to the internet via a proxy server provided by your ISP, and for some reason that server is not able to connect back to the Orphalese server. Are you able to see any of the avaialable decks when you enter the Deck Exchange? I imagine that this error might prevent that too.
*sigh* I don't have many options in terms of connecting: I have a modem that is inside my telephone.Programmer wrote:Your best chance of registering might be to try an alternative way of connecting to the internet if you can. If you are using a wireless connection from your laptop, just trying from a different location might be enough.
I can browse and visit sites with IE (although Firefox is my default browser). I was wondering though if something else could be the source of the conflict... As far as my search on this issue goes, one thing I saw mentioned twice or so was that adblocking softwares could do this... I'm going to see if I've installed any since my last registration. Another question I have is: do you think it's IE 7? I only "recently" installed it (about a few months ago)... Because in terms of the connection: this is the only program I have that gives me this error message right now...Programmer wrote:If you connect through a router or modem at home the program picks up the proxy server settings as they are defined in Internet Explorer on the user's machine. Do you use IE or another browser? Maybe if IE is not configured for internet access then doing that might solve the problem, but not necessarily because accessing a web service is not quite the same as accessing a normal web site.
