Important Note (17 September 2007):
I started this thread when the Forum was still on the main website at http://www.orphalese.net, since when it has moved. The remarks I make about "this website" in fact refer to that website, which is on a different server. If anyone wants to give more feedback, then it is the main website for the program that I am interested in monitoring.
Thanks!

Is it just me, or is this website much slower than most other websites, and much slower than it used to be?
It seems to take ages for me to connect to the Tarot Zone from the program, for example, when before it was quite quick. I have also experienced a similar thing trying to download the setup file for the program. I started noticing this several months ago, since when it seems to have got worse, so much so that I have now moved the setup files to another location.
I have had some correspondence with my ISP about this and they assure me that it must be just some local problem, causing a slow down in traffic between Valencia, where I am, and the UK location where my ISP is. I can't help feeling that they might be trying to put one over on me. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a similar thing. Here is a definitive test that anyone can do: try downloading the Windows 98 version of the setup files (located on my current ISP), and then try downloading the main setup files, which I have moved to a different U.K based server. For me the latter is much quicker, in spite of being a bigger file.
Maybe it is just my geographical location, so I would really appreciate any second opinions on this.
Thanks!
Richard

Thanks Barb, yes it does help. It seems to confirm what I was thinking. Do I remember rightly that you are somewhere on the East Coast of the USA?
If anyone can try this from anywhere else on the planet it would be helpful in building up a bigger picture.
Thanks

I'm closer to San Antonio, Texas! :o) In fact I'm so close to George Straits place that if I spit, I will hit one of his cows!
LOL I'm just joking, but I am northwest of San Antonio, TX.

Hi Richard,
The Win 98 File took 20 seconds for me. The 8.3.1 only took 14 seconds.
Hope this helps.

This thread was about the old server...
Thanks Greg and the rest of you guys for the feedback. This is just to say, for the sake of anyone who might read this, that I started this thread when the forum was still on the same server as the http://www.orphalese.net website. The forum is now on a new server which Willowsheart has kindly provided, and seems much faster, at least to me.
