Transparency

Post by Greg the Yeti »

Hi

I've just been using a circular Deck (Tarot of the Cloisters), which looks great in the main program using the transparent feature.

However I note two things which could be improved.

1 The actual Deck of Cards, from which your spread is drawn does not share the transparent feature. That's a shame.

2 I discovered the Screen Saving feature a few minutes ago and noticed that it also does not share the transparency feature. Now this makes it virtually un-usable for those Decks which use transparency.
I tried saving the file to see if the transparency would 'appear' in that. Unfortunately in neither jpg nor png format did that transparency 'appear'. I tried png as I know that that's the format used by most (all?) the Decks that use transparency.
It is great to have the Screen Shot Saving facility within the program but it's rather bizarre that it doesn't actually display what you see on the screen.

Hi Greg,

Yes, you are right. The illusion of transparency goes to some extent when you are talking about the screen capture form. The closest it gets is to switch the transparent colour on the card for the current screen background colour. So if you use a plain background, i.e. no image, and you have the cards sufficiently far apart so they do not overlap, you should be able to take a screen shot that looks OK. If you need to have the cards very close together or overlapping then you are sunk.
