Possible bug...
I sort my current deck in ascending order, I believe I have turned off any auto shuffling so my top card should be the Fool. If I deal the top card it is the Fool. I then switch decks, and the top card is no longer the Fool, and the cards are not in order.... Now it has been a while sense I've done this but I swear the cards used to stay in the same order when switching decks. So either this is a bug... or my memory is faulty hahaha don't know which.

If I leave cards out and don't draw them back into the deck, they stay in order. Very odd....

I am using the beta and I'm going to roll back one of my machines to see if this stuff is happening in the official release. I can't get the LWB meanings to save. It's really odd. If I type in the LWB area move off the card and move back onto the card the meaning is there. If I switch decks and go back to the deck I typed the meaning in, it's gone. So something is definitely up.

Ok the meaning is saved in the official release but the cards are not staying in order. Again, this isn't something I've done in a while so I don't know when this stopped, but the meanings are not being saved in the beta LWB Area.

Ok even worse.... I just tried with a different deck, and it wiped out what I had in the LWB area
I'm hoping it only did that with the 1 care I tried to change. Again it kept what I did in the personal area but didn't save what I added, and then when reopened it was completely gone. Something very odd is happening. I want to play around a bit and I'll let you know what I've found.

I opened orphalese.
Changed Decks
Ctrl-Chift-A
Drew the Fool
Typed test before the text in the LWB area
clicked Apply
Right-Clicked to turn the card over and put it back into the deck
Switched back to the original deck
Drew a card
Turned the card over and placed it back into the deck
Changed decks
Ctrl-Shift-A
Drew the Fool and all the text is gone.
Opened the xml file and everything is gone. This is all there is in the file:
[?xml version=1.0 standalone=yes?]
[NewDataSet]
[VersionData]
[Version]7.6[/Version]
[/VersionData]
[tblCardInfo]
[Index]0[/Index]
[Notes /]
[NotesReversed /]
[/tblCardInfo]
[tblCardInfo]
[Index]33[/Index]
(it won't let me post with actual code so I replaced the angle brackets.)
I opened another Decks XML file to make sure there was text in it.
Saved it as XXX.xml
When I dealt the Fool there isn't anything showing. It's like it isn't even opening the right file.
Closed Orphalese
Deleted the XXX.xml file and the CardData.xml file & CardData.bak
Opened the deck, entered text, switched decks, switched back and the text is still there.
Closed Orphalese
Deleted the carddata.xml file and copied back the file with the original text.
No text is showing it's blank again.
If I open the xml file there is text for the cards, however nothing is showing when I F6 in the program.
Ok I just found something. If I look at the xml file that it should use it shows [Version]1[Version] In the newly created file after I delete this original file it is [version]7.6[/version]
Now what is really odd is I can't get it to open the CardData.xml file for my Fey tarot no mater if I start the program with that deck or switch to it. If I do it with my DruidCraft deck it opens the CardData.xml file with text and then wipes it out. Very Odd. I don't see a difference between these 2 files.
Copied the DruidCraft file into the Fey folder and it opened the CardData file with text, made a change and it didn't wipe it out.
I just don't understand what is happening, I sure hope you do. If you want the carddata files I'm using just let me know.

Ok I figured out part of this I think. The data file it won't open is because it is saved as a ANSI encoding. If I change that to UTF-8 encoding then Orphalese opens the file with text. Once I use the deck and switch and go back everything is gone, and the file has been re-written and wiped out. I've never notice this encoding thing before I happened to see it when I was replacing the file from a back up. I'm not sure if this is what part of the trouble is or not. If the file is encoded UTF-8 it doesn't get replaced, what I add isn't there, but the file isn't wiped out.
I'm not going to mess with this any more, cuz your going to read what I wrote and know exactly what it's doing....

BTW, the card order thing is by design. The idea is that the cards are not shuffled or sorted when there are cards out of the deck, because it is assumed that the user is doing a comparative reading. Otherwise they are.

Hi Shari,
OK, I have tried to recreate what you did but with no luck. I am sure that, like you suggest, this bug must have to do with one of the decks you are using having an old CardData.xml file that was created with a previous version of the program. So yes, if you could send me those files that would be great :)
Cheers
Richard
