Possible bug...

Hi Marvin,

I have given it another test for thoroughness and it is definitely working for me. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen (i.e. that the program doesn't save any edits of card notes except for the first time you use a deck - that on all the subsequent occasions the edits are lost)? I would be especially interested in hearing from anyone who is using Windows 98, because (assuming you are still using it, Marvin) this might have something to do with it - although I can't think why it would.

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard,

Yes, I'm still using Win 98.... Thankfully I mostly just put a generic card data file in with the decks that I make (so everyone can Tweak it like Shari does!), so it's mostly just copying.....

I started working on a couple of I Ching decks, and that's when I noticed that it allowed me to make new files, but (like Shari) not edit them after the first save.....

I was about to upgrade to the newest version, but I'll wait to see how things go at your end.....

Happy Holidays!

Take Care,

Marvin

Marvin, have you checked to see if there is some sort of bad code in the file? I have access to a Win98 machine so if no one else can, I can load it up on that. Also do you have the latest Beta?

Hey Marvin,

I might have just had a glimpse of the blindingly obvious...If you are not using the latest version of the beta, you might be experiencing a bug which has already been fixed. For example, Shari reported a bug about a month ago which meant that changes to the card notes were not being saved if you navigated between the cards by typing in the number. In that version of the beta, navigating using the arrow buttons saved the changes, but using the box and typing in the number didn't. Could this be what is happening to you? If you think so, and you have had the beta for three or four weeks, you should definitely download the latest version!
