Color-corrected Voyager Tarot now up

Post by Gisela Rodriguez »

Hi all,
I just re-uploaded the Voyager Tarot after I messed with the color balance. It's still not perfect, but I think it's much closer in tone to the real cards. Enjoy!

I'll check it out! Aurora sent me as a present a real Voyager! Nice and curious deck, even a little big... Best.

Gisela, thanks for giving your time and effort to adjust the colors on this deck. To my surprise, however, I find that I preferred the original images. Maybe it's just me and/or my monitor, but the new images seem very washed-out. For my eyes, at least, the contrast is too low. All of the colors are now pastels, and parts that should be black are now grey. Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just me?

Wow, I'm sorry it turned out that way for you. The colors are true on my monitor, including the blacks. My quibble with the images is that they're not quite as sharp as I'd like. I hope you saved the original colors deck for yourself. I don't have it anymore.

Hi Gisela, thanks for the response. Sorry for being so slow on this end.

I still have the original images, so no worries there. I'll need to check my monitor settings and see if I have things set unusually bright or something like that. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know of a reliable online test-pattern or calibration image that might help?

Regarding sharpness, programs like Photoshop and IrfanView have Sharpen tools that can sometimes be useful in small doses. My experience has been that they can easily be overdone, but it might be worth experimenting with if you are so inclined.

Cheers,
