Harry Potter and Tarot?

Post by Cowhead »

After picking up my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this morning, I noticed that one of the chapters has the title The Lightning-Struck Tower. A strangely familiar image, wouldn't you say? :-)

I promise not to post any spoilers, but if it turns out that Tarot figures significantly in the plot of the book, I might mention it here.

P.S. Yeah, this is probably off-topic for Orphalese. On the other hand, the Readers section of the forum seems sadly neglected, and this *is* about reading. If I think of any other lame rationalizations, I'll be sure to add them.

P.S.S. If there are any other Potter fans out there who would like to discuss the book(s), please feel free to contact me through the forums or email.

P.S.S.S. That is all. No more postscripts.

P.S.S.S.S. Except this one.

I keep meaning to change the name of the readers subject, to community, because I am sure that would cover a multitude of sins.

I just noticed that a google search on Harry Potter Tarot gives 329,000 results - I think there are probably quite a few HP decks out there!

Hi Cowhead,

My inestimably *fabulous* partner came home with a copy for me today, and I noticed that sizzling chapter title as well. As far as HP Tarots, so far I've only come across partial decks on the web, but I haven't looked in a while.

Actually, if someone were to be really serious about such a thing, it might be worthwhile to wait until after the 7th and final book in the series comes out (in another year or three?) so that the maximum range of images could be sampled meaningfully in the deck. Not that I'd turn down a chance to get an incomplete/premature one in the meantime...

Hugs
Gisela
