Orphalese makes it very easy to recreate a physical reading, allowing you to keep a record of all your readings. There are two types of spreads you may want to recreate; one using a Spread already in Orphalese, one where there is no ready made Orphalese Spread to use.
Orphalese Spread:
Start by putting your deck in order:
Right-Click Deck [R-C] >Sort, then chose Ascending or Descending or Ctrl-Shift-A (for Ascending) Ctrl-Shift-Z (for Descending)
Place the cards into Free Selection:
R-C>Free Selection or F4
Choose your Spread:
R-C>My Spreads>Select your Spread
Choose your cards:
Browse through the cards and click on them in the order the spread is requesting them.
Make sure to click on the top edge of the card, where the mouse pointer changes to a black arrow with a dot.
Click on Deal Spread
You're ready to create your reading.
---
No ready made spread:
Start by putting your deck in order:
Right-Click Deck [R-C]>Sort, then chose Ascending or Descending or Ctrl-Shift-A (for Ascending) Ctrl-Shift-Z (for Descending)
Place the cards into Free Selection:
R-C>Free Selection or F4
Choose your cards:
Browse through the cards and click on them in the order you want them to appear in the Reading.
F4 again to close the free selection back down to a single pile.
You're ready to create your Reading.

Re: Recreate a Physical Reading or Spread
Thank you very much for these step by step instructions. Within few minutes I was able to transfer my physical reading onto the software.
But how can I ask the software for an interpretation? Does the software provide one?
I want to know what the software's interpretation is and compare notes with my own interpretation. This is one of the main purposes I bought this software.
Please help me with this.
Thanks.
+Vinny

Hi Vinny, Orphalese isn't an interpretation software although if you are using a deck that includes the notes or card data then you can print those with your reading as well.

Re: Recreate a Physical Reading or Spread
Hi Vinny,
Thanks for posting on the Forum as requested, with questions like this it is quite likely that other people will be asking or wondering the same thing.
What I understand you really want is a discrete interpretation for every combination of card and position. You actually mentioned a piece of software that does this, called Matrix. Without actually knowing the program I can guess why it has that name - because it would need to contain a matrix of all these combinations. For a spread with 9 cards that would be 78 * 9 or 702 pieces of text. I can see why this would really appeal to someone who was perhaps starting out and did not have much experience at drawing interpretations, but the downside of such a system would be that it would have to limit you to a small number of preprogrammed spreads and decks.
The Orphalese Tarot goes the other way by allowing the user a potentially infinite choice of spreads and texts. On the other hand the job of combining the meaning of each card with the position it ends up in is left to the user. The program can present you the two sets of text side by side (well, one above the other) within a reading, but not merged.
Having said this I have just tried to repeat the process for myself, and I noticed what looks like a bug - the program was not automatically importing the spread notes into the reading as it should. I had to play around with the settings of the template for new readings to do this, unchecking and then rechecking all the options I wanted. If you have any trouble getting the two texts to appear together please post back on this thread and I will explain that more clearly. I will also look at fixing the bug a.s.a.p.
Cheers,
Richard

Re: Recreate a Physical Reading or Spread
Hello!
I'm a new user trying to recreate a physical reading. Following your steps I did it, BUT I just can't find how to revrse some of the cards of the reading!
Also, I can't find a way to save this reading. I guess your Help covers this issue, but I just can't open the Help file. I downloaded and installed it, and now I can't find it :) If I try to open it in the programm (F1), after download and installation, but f1 just brings me on the help's web-page offering me a download once again.
Thanks in Advance!
