Hi Richard!:About the problem.....

Post by Marvin »

I took out (to another foder) the extra copy of the Peanuts Tarot that I found had appeared in my Orphalese Folder. No Luck. I took out the Pack info file for the original Peanuts Tarot folder. No Luck. Took Out the deck collectiondata file. The Program started, and allowed me online to write this note. What do I need to do from this point on? Do I upgrade to 6.3 ? (I have downloaded it!) So far everything is working fine. I'll wait for more info from you though, just in case......

Thanks,

Marvin

Hi Marvin!

First I would like to say that I am glad that Your mother is getting better.

About the program. try to download a fresh 6.3 upgrade file and try again. I do not have any problems runnning the program and have given it a lot of thought to what can be out of order on your system. Also make sure that you are extracting the files to the right Orpahlese directory on your computer. Depending on how many drives you have. if you only have one, this should not be the problem.

You could also see how much you might have runnning in the process bar to the right. Sometimes programs that run in the background can cause problems with other programs. I do not think that is the cause of the problem though, since previous versions have been running all right. Another thing is that card graphics should not be too big, but that is not a program issue but has to do with RAM, the more the merrier, as the saying goes.

That's it for now - take care it's a file jungle out there.

RE The Error

Post by Programmer »

Hi Marvin,

I had a look at the file you sent last night, expecting to see some glaring problem like a missing field or some strange characters that the program might not be able to read, but in fact everything appeared normal. What I would like to know now is what would happen if you put the file back? Does the program carry on working or does the error come back. My guess (and my guesses haven't been very good so far!) is that the program will work until you try to open a particular deck which is causing the problem. If that happens we can have a closer look at what there might be about the setting for that deck which is triggering this.

Could you give this a go and let me know what happens? Cheers!

Hi Richard,

Now there is a scripts error. It will not allow the the counting bar for the decks to run properly.

I hop this helps,

Me, too. I get the following message when arriving at TZH:

(X) A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?

Line:106
Missing: Expected ‘.’

[Yes] [No]

So I click [No] and the page comes in, minus the deck counting bar.

Yeah I just saw this error too - it is all Cowhead's fault (well, not really). The thing is that at the moment if anyone uploads a deck that has an apostrophe in the name you get this error, and Morgan's Tarot triggered it off. So I just changed it in the database so it figures as Morgans tarot and now everything is ok until the next time it happens. The ticker on the front page is a javascript thing which I found on the internet and I will have to figure out how it works before I can try to fix it, so the best thing might be to avoid apostrophes in the meantime. If the grammatical incorrectness of a structure like Morgans Tarot bothers anyone I recommend that you pretend it is a deck you found on an international site and call it something like Le Tarot de Morgan .)
