P2P page server error (web)

Post by hermit »

Greetings Richard,

Problem on the P2P page: http://79.171.34.43/horizons/p2p.aspx

It hasn't been reaching the actual page for a few days, just an error page displaying:

Code: Select all

Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Other than that, all is well, and the server's been running smoother than ever. It's been very good. :)

In general it is running pretty well at the moment. There is some memory leak in the program that runs the peer-to-peer exchange that I haven't been able to fix, and that is what was causing the frequent crashes until about a month or two ago. To get round that I have introduced a kludge whereby the program stops once a day and restarts ten minutes later. This reclaims all the lost memory, and it seems to be doing the trick for the moment until I can solve the underlying problem. During those ten minutes (shortly after 00.00 hours GMT) if you try to use the deck exchange you get a "Routine Maintenance" message.

Ah, I've run into that message a couple times and assumed it was down for an extensive period. Good to know I could try again in a much briefer time.

I know people don't make it to the forum much unless they have a problem (myself included), but the truth is that the relative silence around here is because the program (and the server) have been working so well. It means all your efforts are being appreciated...a lot. :-)
