Hi Richard, I know I mentioned this one earlier in another post but I can't find it so it's best if it has its own thread.
I save all my readings so that they always appear in Date order within Windows. So Today is - 07 09 17 - Year Month Date. I then just add something which shows the Deck and the reason for the reading. When I save them they appear in the Save Box in the correct order. When I look at the files within an Explorer Window they are also in the correct order.
But if I go to the Saved Reading through Orphalese's Right Click Menu, the order is no longer correct. Just a few of the readings are WILDLY misplaced. I've double checked the names of the files and it's not my error but Orphalese. All normal Explorer or Save Boxes show the files in the correct order. It's just Orphalese that is getting it wrong.
I've tried hard to work out what Orphelese is doing here but can't. It isn't even Orphlese displaying according to the Files Date/Time Property rather than the Name, since in these cases the order should be exactly the same. I'm stumped to work out why! Hope you can help and remove this bug.
I had hoped that the new version might have removed this bug but the current version is still the same. (8.3.1.2)

Re: Saved Readings are Out of Order
Hi again so soon!
I just decided to double check the File Date/Time Property Order of the relevant files.
I opened up in an Explorer Window and fiddled with the Sorting options:- Sorting by Name and by Date mostly as the other options clearly did not reveal anything important or useful.
With sorting by Date some files changed places where I had done more than one reading a day. But they only changed places WITHIN the day. The main Date Prefix that I have used for the Files showed as being correct. So it isn't just me writing down the date wrong!
The other error I just thought of was if my computer was not on the correct date and the Files Date/Time Property was thus wrong? I Checked this too and its reading the correct date for today. I haven't had to change the Time Calendar recently so this 'possible error' can't explain it either!
I hope these elimination tests help to find the bug!

Re: Saved Readings are Out of Order
Hi Greg,
Thanks for reminding me about this. I just managed to find where the problem was. Decks and Spreads were getting sorted alphabetically, but Readings were relying on the default sort provided by Windows. Normally this is alphabetical, but sometimes it isn't. I can't shed any more light on what order it follows either. I used to think it was related to the last order selected in Windows Explorer for the directory in question, but this doesn't seem to be it either.
Anyway, I have fixed this now in the next version of the program, which will be released as a beta at some point in the not too distant future. At the moment it only differs from the current version in a couple of bug fixes, so it isn't really worth releasing just yet.
Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard,
I've just upgraded to that Beta version (8.4.0.3 Beta) and was pleased to see all my past readings are now in correct order. Thanks for getting that fixed.
