Yes, I understand about Scorpios, my instructor is one. Three tours in Viet Nam made him a primal Scorpio. (And yes, it gets PAINFULL on a bad day!)
Also, about you work situation: Tell them to Eat Cake! (Read between the lines, you'll know exactly what I mean! :/}
About cancer, my ma was just diagnosed with it, and my dad like me has diabetes (his is under control, though!)

Your Mom is a survivor! Depending upon her course of treatment (i.e. chemotherapy) give her a kiss and tell her bald is beautiful. My kids did that for me. They also chastised me for lying to them for all these years. Mom! You don't have eyes in the back of your head!, so they painted some on for me. After becoming a contortionist in an effort to peer into the mirror, I discovered their artistic endeavor to be a likeness of Tammy Faye Baker! She's a survivor too!
