dotnet install problem

Post by Programmer »

Hi Alicia,

Ok, you only need to double click the setup file to start the installation. But...

What you are telling me about the question about repairing the program and undoing something might be very interesting, because it is definitely not part of the normal installation routine.

It makes me think that maybe Windows has got confused about what version of the program is actually installed. This might have come about for example if you installed the program on top of an old version of the program without uninstalling the old one first. This should not happen, but it might have done if for example your original installation was from the Tarot of Dreams CD, which had a different product code from the normal OT.

You might want to read this article and try running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility before attempting the reinstall: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. You can also download the utility from the same site.

Cheers

dotnet install problem

Hi Alicia,

The program download is the one you can find in here on the downloads page (full installation, not the upgrade) and the .NET Framework is here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

I am about to sign off for the day now but I hope it goes well. Remember to make a note of any messages or warnings that appear, if they look like they might be at all out of the ordinary.

Good luck!
