Reading done for Lisa with the spread quick icebreaker
I have had 2 lay on this spread, this is the second.
Thx for letting me read for you and I hope it will give you some amusement and maybe a stimulus.
For card 1 you got 10 of cups
for card 2 you got Justice
For card 3 you got King of Pentacles
For card 4 You got Queen of sword
Yor quintesse is 21 the World
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Card 1: 10 of Cups
What's been happening in your life?
This card is telling about much love in your life.
Many times when we are down we are thinking no one loves us, ( I am not saying you are down) but if we make up status we can see there have been and are much love around us.
You always have your parents love. your family's and from good friends.
But it start early, you have your first flirt in the kinder garden. Then in the teens you start bonding with friends, some of them just good to have, other you really love to have around, then the hormones start to jump and you learn both Love and forgiveness the hard way, just like every other teenager on earth, funny they always believe they are the only ones.
Then more serious love appear which end up in a emotional fulfillment, this might last or take an end, but you have been blessed with one of the many experiences in life.
So the card tells about love and the importance that you also give it back. This might be through daily life, family events, and with friends, where you with peace and contentment show them all, that they are your love ones.
Card 2: Justice
How you feel about it.
I think this card tells that you through your childhood have learned both justice and responsibility. I think you are a honest person that are seeking answer to the many mysteries of life, and I believe you feel the same.
This is shown by your interest in the spiritual world
Through this you will see your Karma. You say you have taken your spiritual self to seriously, I believe that if you find your spiritual self, all is harmony, so it must rather be your spiritual ego that make it to serious. The clue is to find balance between those two. Try to explore yourself, try to find your strong side and your weakness, many times you will see that thing that you don't like in other are thing you don't like in yourself. Try to think a bad situation through and you might discover that you played your part in it.
In doing so, it will be easier to face the truth about yourself and your surroundings (because the ego always want to color it), and you will see cause & effect with new eyes and opinions.
This will make you stronger and life become much easier to love.
Card 3:King of Pentacles
What you didn't know.
I will start with a confession. this is my second try on the spread for you. On my first try I got this card on the same position and I said to myself how could I interpret this card for a person who have shown creativity, and the question is what didn't you know??
When it popped up again on the same spot I surrender in awe.
I have given it some thought, and maybe the card is telling you and me that up to now you has had little belief in yourself.
You might have shown creativity by exploring your spiritual part and by applying to new school in creative writing, but in order to succeed you must be confident in yourself.
The way I now read the card is that you are a very resourceful person.
If you put your mind into it, I am sure you are skilled enough to be successful, even if this mean you have to be both patient and reliable. Hard work is what gives the best satisfaction when the goal at last is reached.
From those 2 first cards I can read that you are a sharing person, which also is confirmed by you attending this exchange. The same you have to do when in school, make friends, and share thoughts, this helps you growing mentally and creatively.
So I just say: Set your goal and do it, you are a resourceful person with great potential.
Card 4 QUEEN OF SWORD
Well here it must be. What decision you must make
I had to smile when I saw your card here.
A better following up card to King of Pentacles in your situation is hard to get.
It tells you to be honest with yourself and other.
Dealings with other need to be both direct and candid.
Look for humor, absorb every positive moment.
Appreciate relationship because these energies have special significance for you at the moment.
Be realistic and astute but keep the perspective.
She also tell that true skill will you achieve experience and with that, prosper.
So here you get a confirmation on what to do, believe in yourself!
J
You have also received 2 court cards in the spread. From what I understand is this an omen that you must depend or be helped by real people, which also is confirmed in the reading, so be open for new impulses, don't try to do it all alone!
Let me also try your Quintessence which should be 10+11+0+0 =21 The world
I have taken me the liberty to copy something from Acelectic Tarot
Thus, the World card, very aptly, represents a successful conclusion, all aspects accounted for and taken in. Simply put, this card tells the Querent that the end to a long-term project is in sight, and that it will be accompanied by well-earned praise, celebration and success. With Saturn as its ruling planet, this card can also indicate that the Querent, now an expert in their subject, is likely to become a teacher or sought-after lecturer. And, finally, on a more mundane level, the World card indicates travel, not short business trips, but long, fantastic trips. Maybe a lecture tour, book signing, or just a trip around the world. This is a wonderful card of wholeness, perfection, satisfaction and happiness.
Good luck and remember me when you have become famous:)

Re: Re: Re: Rhutobello's reading for Lisa.
Rhutobello,
Thank you for taking your time to do such a nice reading for me! I can see why it might have been tricky interpreting it with knowing so little about me and especially only knowing that I am pursuing creative writing, but this reading really is dead on with respect to my personal relationships. I really do have a lot of love and support in my life. (card 1) I have also been spending a lot of time lately examining any relationships I have that need repair, by telling the truth, either through apologizing for things I've done or airing grievances if I'm upset about something (card 2) and yes, I'm a little too serious about it, but am finding the whole thing is lightening my attitude! And then, I started to question whether or not I should be going through this process right now, so I have to say, that your reading of the last two cards encouraged me. I even called a friend I was afraid to talk to after I read your email and it went really well! The excerpt you posted about The World is encouraging as well, both with respect to my relationships and with respect to my poetry! I really hope I'll be a sought-after lecturer! :)
Thanks again!
Lisa

Cowhead's Icebreaker Reading
Cowhead,
In this “icebreaker” reading, I used Crowley's Thoth deck
(I now have it uploaded to Orphalese so I even did it with the program!).
Card 1: Ace of Wands
Card 2: Princess of Cups
Card 3: 8 of Swords
Card 4: Queen of Wands
Quintessence: 9—the hermit
Card 1—Where is your life right now? At the door of opportunity to fulfill whatever it is that you are desiring right now. You haven't yet taken the first physical steps, but remember that the first step for anything is desire itself and the next, the formation of that desire on the mental plane. If you haven't yet pictured your desire as a reality, you are ready to believe in it now. Crowley's card shows 10 flames shooting from the one wand, a powerful sign that your desire right now is strong enough to fully manifest itself physically.
Card 2-- How do you feel about this? Like the prettiest girl at the dance, giddy and tender, generous and full of daydreams, like a turtle coming out of its shell to a nice breeze and sunlight. You would know better than I would if this card also points to an actual person in your life, but I tend to think even if it does, our feelings for that person are reflections of ourselves that we see in that person. So I will read the court cards as they apply to you.
Card 3—What don't you already know? I think in the thrill of these new beginnings you are not quite conscious of the difficulties ahead. But when we stop to think about it, there is no smooth road. Of course when pursuing opportunities, we'll encounter struggles. But it's nice to have an idea what form they will take and how to move beyond them. This card shows two strong swords clashing with 6 rogue swords. The symbol of the two strong swords plus the presence of two court cards in this reading would lead me to believe that there is some other person involved in this new endeavor, that both of you are one-minded about your goal and that you are both strong enough to stand against the distractions and interferences that you will encounter. And if you do, you will come out, as pictured, on top, but be aware that these distractions will come in many forms, from many angles.
Card 4—Where do you need to go with this information? Starting with the Ace of Wands and ending with the Queen is certainly much to be hopeful about and a long way to go! No wonder you'll run into a little interference from time to time, but I think the main point here is striving with the self-assurance that you are on the right path. Because you are looking at the Queen, also remember to be gentle with yourself and others, firm but gentle.
Quintessence: Overall advice—before you start on this journey, take some time out for yourself, spend some time meditating on your goals. Make sure you know exactly what you want out of this experience so that you can maintain your focus when tempted to become distracted. Store up on your spiritual energy now, so it can see you through the leap you are about to take.
I would love to know what if any of this reading had meaning for you! I had fun doing it!

Cowhead Reads for Barb
Reading for Barb, using the Quick Icebreaker spread.
This reading was done by Cowhead. I used The Alchemical Tarot deck by Robert Place.
I drew these cards:
Card 1: What's been happening in your life? -- Strength
Card 2: How you feel about it. -- 4 of Vessels
Card 3: What you didn't know. -- The Chariot
Card 4: Why you're having a reading. -- 9 of Coins
I decided to try using Lisa's Quintessence method. For this spread, the quintessence is 11 + 4 + 7 + 9 = 31 = 4 (The Emperor)
I was struck by how emphatically we see the theme of balance and control. This is a major meaning of every single card here, including the quintessence. Of the four cards in the spread, two are trumps and two are minors, suggesting a balance between the spiritual and the material or mundane -- an explicit theme of both trumps.
Sometimes readings are subtle, and some are even inscrutable. On the other hand, every now and then it seems like the cards are shouting, and this is one of those times.
Card 1: What's been happening in your life?
In Place's Strength card, a woman representing the Higher Self rides a lion that is the Libido. Above her, the sun and the moon combine their male and female essences into a heart-shaped vessel. The card brings together the contrasting parts of a person -- the yin and yang, the spiritual self and the animal self -- and harmonizes them. And it is the power of love that allows the woman to control the lion.
In this position, the card suggests to me that you are gracefully maintaining control over your passions. It may feel at times as if you are riding a lion, but ride it you do.
Card 2: How you feel about it.
I love the image on Place's 4 of Vessels. An elephant stands on four large jugs or urns, each foot on a different vessel. In the book that comes with the deck, Place (or Rosemary Ellen Guilley) writes The card represents physical and emotional balance. The body is in harmony with the emotions. The unconscious is allowed to manifest into the conscious.
So in this position, the card suggests that you are aware of this balance and enjoy its benefits. I'll have more to say about this card later.
Card 3: What you didn't know.
Again, the Chariot is another expression of maintaining balance, of the higher self controlling the animal nature and even reconciling its contradictory impulses. But the Chariot also represents impatience. Unlike the woman riding the lion in Strength, here the charioteer must work to impose his will over the horses.
In this position, the card seems to suggest that things are not quite as calm internally as it would appear to an observer, or even to yourself. I would guess that there is some part of your physical nature that is itching to bust loose and express itself. It might be an urge to cuddle up with another person, or to cuddle up with a carton of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Or it might just be your body wishing for more exercise. I really have no idea, of course, but I do get the strong sense that your body is asking for attention.
Card 4: Why you're having a reading.
My take on this position is that it indicates the idea from the reading that would be most beneficial to follow up on.
The 9 of Coins can represent material comfort, of course. The book says, The coins show a balance of silver and gold, the feminine and masculine principles. (Here we go with balance again!)
The book also says, Nine is a number of completion.
However, I also recall the design of the 9 of Pentacles in the Waite-Smith deck. A woman stands in a rich garden, with a hooded hawk on her hand. It's an image of bounty, and yet some have pointed out that she might be walled in. In other words, another interpretation can be someone who is trapped by her success. This thought reminded me of the image on the 4 of Vessels. The elephant there is poised and balanced, but if it lifted one foot, the three remaining vessels would have to bear all the weight. Would they be crushed? The image might actually show an elephant who doesn't dare to move for fear of upsetting the careful balance. The potential for crushed vessels could indicate fear of hurting someone's feelings, or of having yours hurt.
To sum it all up, every card here is an expression of control and balance. However, some also suggest at least the potential for difficulty or dissatisfaction.
Another theme I noticed for this reading is the number Four. We see the Four of Vessels, there are four cards in the spread, and the quintessence is four. Four is structure, and four is the material world. The concept of structure echoes the themes of control and balance. The concept of materiality echoes the reminder in the first and third cards that we are physical beings.
Overall, the message here seems to be that you have established an admirable level of balance and control in your life, and that you have the tools to sustain that. However, I would suggest giving some thought to card three. It seems to be hinting at the possibility that you may have some physical need or impulse that is not getting the attention it wants. Ignoring it may just exacerbate the issue. With your rich resources, you should be able to look at your champing horses and decide whether to let them run or to keep a tight grip on the reins.
Thanks for letting me read for you, Barb. (And for indulging me in another blab-fest!) I hope you find something interesting in it.

Re: Cowhead's Icebreaker Reading
Lisa,
Thank you for this reading. You have given me much to think about. Here are a few brief comments:
Card 1 - I feel like I'm teetering on the edge of something, but I don't know what it is yet. This is an encouraging card.
Card 2 - giddy and...full of daydreams Story of my life!
So I will read the court cards as they apply to you. I think this is a sensible approach. Anyway, it's something I often do in my readings, sensible or not...
Card 3 - I love your take on this card, especially your image of the two swords united against the others. Having the support of my sweetie is really important to me. ...distractions will come in many forms, from many angles. Again, the story of my life. Sigh...
Card 4 - Another encouraging card. ...be gentle with yourself... This is very apt. Thank you.
Quintessence - spend some time meditating on your goals More great advice. ...maintain your focus when tempted to become distracted. Oh my goodness. More appropriate than you could know!
This reading was a real gem. Thanks again.
