Hi, When I upgraded to 7.2 I lost all of my personal notes in my deck file... Aargh! I will definitely save my notes this time onto a cd beforehand -- but is there any easy way to upgrade to the current version and still maintain my vast archives of personal notes on cards from different decks?

I save them inside my document folders that I keep on another drive. Just making a copy of it and pasting it elsewhere is safe. You don't have to waste a CD unless there is gold in them thar deck files! :)

I read your post with some concern. One of the golden rules of the Windows Installer is that it never deletes or removes a file that it did not itself install. In fact, there is no way that I know of that it could delete a file that wasn't one of its own, so to speak. The reason for this is that when you install a program using Windows Installer it keeps a database of all the files it installed. When you uninstall or repair, these files are the ones it removes or replaces.
The PersonalCardData.xml files on the other hand are created by the program - they are not part of the installation. Are you sure you have lost these files? If you have I would be very interested to find out why so I can prevent it or warn people about what not to do. Could you let me know whether the deck folder you mentioned was one of the ones that came with the program, or one you installed yourself?

The actual files weren't deleted, but the extensive personal notes for the Tarot of Prague I had entered in the LWB CardData.xml files by using the F-6 key, were overridden and replaced with the Orphalese version of the LWB info for this deck when I upgraded to version 7.2. I looked in all files Orphalese Tarot related, and could not find my notes. There was a CardData.xsd file which I could not open, and do not know what it is. I'm not all that computer savvy, but I'm hoping for some guidance on how to save my current notes, which I have re-entered along with many other notes pertaining to other decks before upgrading to 7.3. (they are showing up now with my packs as CardDate.xml. Do I just need to save, then cut and paste into new version? Let me know if you need any other info. Flamegirl

The notes associated with the Traditional Tarot and the Imperatrix Tarot would indeed get removed when you uninstall the program, because they are part of the original installation. Then they would be replaced by a copy of the original set.
The best way to back them up would be take a copy of the file CardData.xml for the Traditional Tarot and the Imperatrix Tarot if you have edited these notes. You could leave it where it is but just by changing the name (to MyCardData.xml or whatever) you will find it is left alone by the uninstall/reinstall process.
