Music for Tarot Reading?

Post by Dominatrix »

Hi All:

I was downloading MP3 music from my favorite Webservice (I'm not into P2P anymore), when the question came to my mind. What kind of background music would you use (if any) for a Tarot reading? Something soft and non-distracting? Classicals? A new-agesque tune? A nifty soundtrack? Maddening and deafening death metal?

I'd love to get some ideas and exchange suggestions with other members regarding the subject. Music for a state of mind does not end with Adiemus, Enya, Alan Stivell or the Solitudes series, huh? I would recommend personally some selections for a start:

Lësiem - Mystic Spirit Voices
Gregorian Masters of Chant - Chapter II or The Masterpieces
Conjure One
Delerium - Chimera
Amethystium - Aphelion

I can think of a lot more, but what's your bet?

OHHH!
I simply adore soft Piano music, in the background! (Dominatrix, quit cringing! .0) )

Pachelbel's Canon in D, Precious Moments, Wonderous love! Oh give me Mozart in his darkest moment or soft mushy but strange moods!

I even like Barbra Stresand! He hee!

State of mind is equal to that of the meditative moment! And Def Jam is actually dangerous for doing a reading for me. LMAO!

Hi Dominatrix,

Let me start with I'm somewhat Off-beat.....

For Troubled situations, I love (please help me with the spelling!) Galacian (Spanish!) Bagpipes, or Celtic Music.....

For Romantic readings, I love light Jazz......

Reading for and about Break-ups, I prefer the Blues......

Other types of music include:

Classical Music. It lifts the soul, and gives (for me!) a light airy feel.....
Buddhist Chants. Like Gregorian, it centers my attention upon the now......

I have even read to The Devil went down to Georgia, but I don't advise it for most readers.......

Depending upon the mood / state of mind of the person requesting the reading, I will share the music, or if it will hurt / worsen the situation, my walkman does good duty here........

(And yes Barbara, I like Barbara Stresand too! Just don't tell my Wife!) LOL!!!!!

I hope that this adds to the discussion, and helps.......

Take Care,

Marvin

Hum, didn't thought on jazz, not one of my areas of expertise... Closest record to this I can think of is Angelo Baladamenti's Twin Peaks soundtrack.

I was sure that nobody would propose Bauhaus' Bela Lugosi is Dead or Aesma Daeva's The Frigid Beauty of Eros to name uncommon music, but... Barbara Streisand? Best.

How about . . . anything non-lyrical (words tend to distract me)

Kenny G - anything
Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue
Copeland - Appalacian Spring
Beethoven - 9th Symphony

Just my two cents,

Many Blessings,
Christine
