Hi again. I decided to download a few new decks from the exchange (all 78 card decks) now switching between decks, or sometimes just gathering the cards, freezes the whole program.
I uninstalled the program in the Control panel using MS uninstall feature thingy, checked and the program folder was still present- when I tried to deleted the folder, it repeatedly crashed my Windows Explorer. I was finally able to delete it. I then re-installed the latest version, with the Dream cards- and it's still happening. What am I missing? I have version 9.3.1.4 ...Help!

Re: Gathering cards- switching decks
Hi Kitty, The fact that your computer was freezing when you tried a file delete operation in Windows Explorer would suggest your computer is running out of memory (that happened after you had uninstalled Orphalese, right?). Switching decks does use quite a bit of memory too. The more the cards, the bigger the images, and the more cards are out of the deck at the time would all tend to increase that.
Re: Gathering cards- switching decks
I honestly don't think that's likely; not with this pc. But I'm going to experiment, and shut down every extraneous program or service, and at least explore that path. It's a new problem, which is why I tried to re-install the program. When that didn't help, I decided to completely uninstall, first, and try again. But, as I mentioned- this is a new thing. I think it may be a registry issue. It doesn't happen on switching decks: that works. It's only on gathering the new deck.
I think another aspect is when you save a reading, and then switch decks and try another save- it tells you there are no cards out of the deck TO save. Can you think of anything to try that may add clarity?

That last one sounds like something that I can repeat and hopefully reduplicate. As you say, maybe there is a clue in there.

Re: Gathering cards- switching decks
I finally got some time to take a proper look at this and I am quite optimistic that I have found where the problem was.
What you said about that message telling you there were no cards out of the deck was indeed an important clue. It turns out that if you had some cards out and then you switched to a deck with the exact same number of cards the program was creating a new deck without taking into account the cards that were out. Because there was a new deck (as far as the program was concerned) it gave you the message that there were no cards out of the pack when you tried to save it as a new reading. This also sheds light on the problem you reported on the other thread, because the cards that were out effectively became duplicates. I think by fixing this problem the other problem is probably fixed too. I just uploaded a new version 9.3.1.5 which contains this fix, hopefully you can confirm this when you get a chance to try it. Sorry it took so long to come back to you with a solution.
