Version 9.2

Post by Programmer »

In this release I have managed to fix it so the Deck Exchange loads up fast on the first search. Previously it was slow on the first search and then fast on the subsequent ones, at least for several users who reported this.

I also made it so you can access the main menu of the program by right clicking on the deck including when the deck is "parked".

One problem I noted.

When upgrading the program from 9.1 to 9.2, it forces you to uninstall 9.1.

This wouldn't normally be a problem, but during the uninstall, the Celtic Cross and the Three Card Spread are both deleted. 9.2 does not install them again.

Thus I've lost two spreads which are NOT in the spread exchange.

I just uploaded and all three of these spreads are there on the spread exchange now. Regarding the installations, there shouldn't be any change between the behaviour of version 9.1 and 9.2 in this respect. Is it possible that you installed from the link to the program upgrade only this time, rather than a link to one of the deck packages? The deck packages (Traditional, Tarot of Dreams and Aeclectic Tarot) should all include those three spreads, but the upgrade only link will just give you the program without any other files.

Yes that's what I did. I updated. But if that's the case, then it shouldn't have asked me to uninstall the previous version.

Just something I noticed.

I agree that the previous upgrade option was too much like hard work. I have just changed it so that the link goes to a self-extracting zip file which just replaces the executable. It is very quick and painless, the only drawback that I can foresee is that if you were to use Windows Installer to repair the program it would take you back to the one you originally installed. I don't think in practice that will happen very often.

Outstanding.

Worked easy as pie. And now one of the other minor quibbles I had with the program is solved, I can lay out an explanatory short spread while another is still on the table. Good going!

When I tried to get to the Deck Exchange, it said that the exchange was unreachable. Not sure if it's a bug or if the server is just offline for a bit, but I thought I would let you know.

And thank you.

It was a problem with the installation files - basically it was installing the wrong version of the config file. I have fixed it now so if you try it again you should have the Deck Exchange back.

... and that did fix it. TYVM.

Now, if we can get those 30 people sharing decks to share their spreads too....
