Cartomancy

Post by Christine »

I uploaded a new deck to the exchange. It is a classic poker style deck for those interested in cartomancy. No jokers are included. If you are interested in other classic decks, I have several more unique ones that I will convert to .gifs and upload. Just post a reply. Enjoy. . .

Thanx Christine! I'd been looking for a scan of poker cards.

Still another Cartomancy Deck on the exchange, Piatnik Vienna Melange annotated. This is a 53 poker style card deck, Joker included. The annotations are from the book Fortune Telling with Playing Cards by Jonathan Dee. These are VERY extensive notes (yeah, I typed 'em all in), covering astrological relationships based on the Golden Dawn system, Lenormand symbolism along with a four stanza poem. For those interested in Cartomancy, this is one book well worth purchasing.

Enjoy!

Hi,

Actually I would be interested in them, in part because of all of the plain poker style decks being used these days. I am currently working on some spreads just for cartomancy, and would like to see what a tailor made deck looks like.

Thanks,

Marvin

Hi Marvin!

Sorry it took so long to respond, but I have a day job that sometimes cuts into my fun time .-). I also wanted to scan a deck for you - and here it is: Fortune Tellers Deck is now on the deck exchange page. There are no interpretations as of yet - something I will be playing with as I learn how to use the OCR hubby just installed for me. (Thank you dear!)

I'm looking forward to seeing the spreads you're working on - please keep me posted.

Enjoy!

Hi Christine!

Don't worry about how long it takes to respond, at 44, I know how long it takes to respond to anything in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, I'm (American) Scots/Irish, 44, balding, diabetic, (also married!), and a Martial Arts Instructor by trade. (My kids beat me up! all the time, ha, ha!) (beware my twisted humor, and all my students!) (What spells trouble? 30 10-14 years old, bored and into mischef!)

I'm into: Tarot, Runes, and Cartomancy. My speciality (if you want to call it that!) in each is spreads/casts. Unfortunarely most of my tarot spreads are a little too big for the program to accomodate.

I will be posting four of them soon: Lil' Torii Gate, Ten Card, Claymore, and (brain derailed!, sorry!) possibly sai.

The ones that I can't post (as yet) are: The Torii Gate, Spirit Gate, St. Andrews Cross, and Irish Cross spreads. (Yes, they're huge!)

I am adapting some runic images that I picked up into runic decks, but that will be on hold until I find out why they're jamming my machine! (?)

Actuall my humor isn't that bad, just ask my wife! (Yeah, right!)

Have fun! Be Safe! And never leave a twenty-somethg single with your class!

Later!

P.S.

I'm sorry! I forgot to thank you!

(You know what they say: Over forty, eyes go, memory goes, err... what was I talking about?)

Thanks Again,

Marvin
