relation between suits and elements

Post by escorpion13 »

hello all:
can someone please direct me to a deck or some decks where
the conection
swords -air
pentacle-earth etc is diferent?
something like
swords fire by example
or maybe can you send me to a book where it`s writen why
the golden dawn decided that the common position ...air swords is the correct one and no other else? maybe ....wands earth (they grow one in the other)
thank you all

Many of the continental decks including the Tarot de la Rea use Levi's attributions (which aren't the Goden Dawn's. That said there's a terrific starting list on Aeclectic here: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/ch ... ions.shtml

And a thread here: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.ph ... =elemental

Let me kow if you'd like more info.

Duh... I typed Levi and I was thinking Etteilla (whose attributions are quite different frm the Golden Dawn's). Sorry about that...

re: sword/air correspondence, given that the GD correspondences are based on qabalah the 'flaming sword' is call 'ruach' in the Zohar [ruach means wind/spirit]. However, as you see, it is also described as the 'flaming' sword.
