I am corresponding with someone who is trying out the program and they cannot connect to the Tarot Zone, even though they assure me that their internet connection is fine. As this person uses a dial-up connection I was wondering if anyone here who connects to the internet in that way had experienced similar problems or knew of any issues that might need addressing? It might sound crazy but it is years since I had a dial-up connection and I have tried connecting to the OTZ in that way.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Re: Dial-up Users...
Hi Richard,
Three things.:
1) How is their firewall configured? It may not be letting them online.
2) They may have to go online first, minimise their browser, and then try to connect.
3) Whae OS are they using?
I had a combination of all of these problems when I had dial-up.
I hope that this helps,
Marvin

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for your suggestions. I have passed them on to the user in question. She is using Windows XP and it is a new computer so I think the problem has to be to do with her internet configuration. She has also tried connecting with and without the firewall.
Cheers

I can't give an opinion without all the facts, but today I've been upgrading a machine into XP SP2 and I've discovered again how picky are Windows Firewall and Security Center. Internet connection with Windows needs a lot of fine tuning, the observations made by Marvin make a lot of sense for me. But again, like the Programmer, I haven't used dial-up for six years now, so you never can tell. Memory Remains, like in Metallica song... Best.
