Richard asked about doing reading using only part of the deck. You can do this by setting up decks for what you want and then launching them separately.
You want to draw only from the Pentacles. You create a Pentacle deck. The 1st part of your reading includes all the cards, so you open that deck and then launch the Pentacle deck. Do your 1st spread, and then the additional spread with the pentacle only deck and then create the reading via the reading creation and it includes all the cards from both decks. It's very kewl :o) So if you draw an Angle card at the end of a standard reading you can include that too. So I don't think this has to be handled via the program it is just a matter of setting up your decks. There is a few problems with this right at the moment. I'm going to post into another post to see if anyone else finds this so and I'm keeping this post specific .-)
One is with the current Preferred Deck setup. If the preferred deck is 78 cards and you switch to a 22 card deck there is no way to use the spread. It won't let ya. The 2nd part is adding cards to a reading once you have created it.

Re: Readings using partial decks
Hi Shari,
thanks for the workaround. I had actually done that with some of my majors.
I don't think that replicating and separating your deck is the most efficient use of resources (computer and time) though. The deck I separated had card notes for 78 cards. I basically had to edit the xml file by hand to remove the ones I no longer needed (for the copy card notes).
I would like the software program to have this capability. From memory, there was another Tarot program that could do it. But the other features in that program where nowhere near as good as Orphalese.

Re: Re: Readings using partial decks
Actually that does bring up something... I don't use the notes a whole lot at this point so I didn't think of that. However the resources of puter and time I don't feel is a problem, but I have a large hard drive and use irfanview so the renaming takes about a second. The card notes I can see being one. Actually that was something that just came up for me too. I'm going to post it separate because it so hard to follow subjects if they all get lumped together.
