Is there a way to connect a spread to a deck?

Post by purple_scorp »

Hi all,

Other than naming conventions, is there a way to connect/associate a spread to a deck?

Often in LWB's there are suggested spreads for each deck. I thought it would be cool if, while working with a deck, you could see a list of spreads for that deck (as well as seeing your full spread list). So perhaps My Spreads would be segregated into Spreads for this deck and All Spreads.

If this is not currently possible, Richard, would you consider this as a future enhancement please?

thanks

Hi Scorp

This is a good idea, and it also dovetails in with some changes I have been thinking about for the Spread Wizard - making the spread designer more what you see is what you get, which is only really possible if the cards that you are moving around in the designer are the same shape as the cards that the spread is going to be used with.

I have also been mulling over the idea of a database. I think it might be workable as an advanced feature. It could actually use a separate xml file that comprised all the data held in various places in the users decks/spreads folders, as long as this did not have to be kept up to date all the time. I think it would put too much strain on the program to do this, for something that would only be used by a minority of users. But as an advanced feature there could be a Rebuild Database option that you could launch to refresh this file whenever you wanted, and then youlcould have a reporting facility based on that. I will keep knocking the idea around anyway.

Cheers
Richard
