I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get to the page to be able to download any decks. All I get is about the new feature, which says to minimize the page but when I do that I still can't get to the deck exchange page. Please help!!!

I'm not Richard but maybe this can help till they get on the forum!

Just off the top of my head, this could be because the new exchange window pops up after that intro page loads.
If you don't have a pop up blocker that is set on high levels, then your new exchange window is popping up behind all your other windows.

After you click on the deck exchange, and the intro window window has a few seconds to download, shrink all the open windows (pages) you have open. You might find the deck exchange (pop up window) hiding from you!
At least, I hope you find it hiding!

Hi, Linda!

I'm not Richard either, but the same thing happened to me, a couple of times, in fact, and I had to goose it. I got around it one time by clicking again on Deck Exchange at left. Another time I clicked in the white space (the off-white space) and that seemed to get it going.

Hi All,

I have been in the arms of Morpheus for the last six hours. Fell asleep with dinner in the oven so I am lucky I didn't burn the whole block down!

I just read these message and I am not completely sure what is happening but here is my best guess:

When you click on the Deck Exchange link the Deck Exchange window becomes visible. When you click on any other link or go back to running the program the Deck Exchange Window becomes invisible. It becomes visible again when you click on the link etc

If you have mimimized the Deck Exchange Window what we are talking about, the thing that is becoming visible or invisible, is just the little box with the icon that sits in your taskbar. It is very easy to miss. The program doesn't remaximize it so my guess is the DE is there but it is minimized and you are overlooking it.

The advice on that page about minimizing the window was out of date. I should have removed it along with the links to the Old DE - I have removed it now.

Does this explain and fix it?

I have just been having a play with it and I can see it is very easy to lose the DE if you minimize it and then click away. Especially on XP where the taskbar icons are lumped together when you are running out of space - the only clue you get is the number at the end of the windows name (e.g. Orphalese Tarot (2)) which, again if you are running out of space on your taskbar, can just look like Orph....

In the next cut I will do away with the minimize button on the DE altogether :)

I have another theory why you might not be able to see the new deck exchange...you might be using a version of the program that doesn't include it! The new Deck Exchange is part of version 7.2 and higher. You can get the latest version of the program from the Downloads page. Bear in mind that you have to uninstall the current version first.

I have tried all your suggestions and still I get nothing. I don't even get a second window.

Hi Linda

It is natural that you assume you have the latest version because you obviously downloaded and installed it recently. But in fact the program has been updated in the last couple of weeks, and the current version is 7.2.3.

When you log in to the Tarot Zone the program communicates the user's version with the server, so it can know whether to show certain messages etc. I can actually see on the server that you are using version 7.1 of the program, which does not contain the Deck Exchange, so that is where the problem lies. You can confirm this by choosing About.. off the main menu.

You can get version 7.2.3 from the Downloads Page, just click the link where is says Upgrade. You will have to uninstall your current version first before you install the new one. This won't affect any of your decks and spreads.

Speaking of which, is the reason you don't change the name from Upgrade to Upgrade 7.2.3, because of all the upgrades you have been doing, here of late?

I've been keeping the zips of the last three upgrades just in case I need to work backwards in the event of a boo-boo. I even change the zip file names to keep up with each upgrade. But doesn't the new upgrade have 6 in it now?

This fixed it. I kept looking at the Version after the download button and thinking that is what I had rather than realizing I needed to download it.
