Converting pdf/jpg LWB Notes to text

Hi All,
I noticed that some decks have LWB Notes added as a jpg/gif to the deck zip file, or, have been uploaded as a document in pdf format.
Is anybody going through these, converting them to text and creating CardData.xml files?
PDF Writer allows you to edit/copy text in pdf files.
OCR scanner software will allow you to scan text and save it as text, rather than as a graphics file (jpg/gif) etc.
Both could then be copied into the individual Card Notes (or CardData.xml files).
Has anybody started this process? I could do some of it but I don't want to spend time and energy repeating what somebody else has already done.
Let me know. Maybe we can coordinate the process through this thread.
regards

I posted the following in April and nobody replied. Doesn't anybody have any comments on this?

Hi Purple:
I had done some of them, they are already in the CardData.xml Files page. I had share a lot of them.
About the PDf files, I could not copy and paste from them, most of them are protected and do not permit copying. So I have to read the definitions and write them, Thats a lot of work and time...
I always share my CardData files, but I`m thinking about not sharing anymore as they take so much time, and you do not receive even a thank you note. I do share for the fun of it, but as I had shared a lot, I will know let other people share. I had done my part. In special the Spanish speaking people, that download my shared CardFiles a lot, as I had seen in the Statistics page, but not dare to even say , !Hey, thanks for translating this for me!!! As I hear Escorpion and Dominatrix complain about not receiving feedback, I thing every generous contributor in TZ is in the same boat. Maybe we people are short of time to say thank you. I think I had been enough generous. If we want to share we have to do it for fun...
I`m working in some CardData files in Spanish, but maybe I will sell them in my website...

As one of those users that love cardfiles, but never have contributed with one I feel ashamed. I must say you have done a great job and I can understand the frustration that have started to arise.
I have great understanding for the question Purpel asked, and I think the best way to have it up running is to make a user group, where we have 1 leader (voting for Purpel since she started). The leader shall mostly try to find out which deck to translate into cardfiles, the members are given a job to do the work on a named deck from the leader.
If such a group sound interesting, you can count me up, and I urge all users to do the same.
Don't let a few user do all the work we all love the outcome off!!

Firstly to Aurora,
thank you for all of the work that you've done. It is appreciated and, I think when we first come to Tarot Zone, we are in a bit of a frenzy, trying to look at all of the wonderful decks that have been uploaded by the very kind people here. There are so many to choose from, we haphazardly download many of them, losing sight of what it actually involves to get the deck and the notes to the upload stage.
There are decks that I've downloaded which I really enjoy, but time, and lack of organisation (and a whole range of other excuses I could trot out) have prevented me from actually giving feedback or thanks even, for the effort of people like you.
I'm hoping that, with the new features, such as Richard's great Deck Exchange Browser, it will free all of us to be able to easily track the decks and post comments (thanks etc) and maybe even discuss how we use the decks etc.
Orphalese has come so far, so quickly. I feel that the Tarot Zone is still in its early stages and feedback will easily flow once the new features have been implemented and we all stabilise our positions here.
To Rhutobello,
I'm happy to coordinate the process. I'm glad you are happy to contribute. Let's wait until Richard returns and see what he wants to do.
with love

I printed up the Kanaka Makus carddata.xml file from the .jpg that was encluded in the uploaded deck.
I am one who is ALSO SO GRATEFUL for the carddata.xml files that are encluded in deck uploads to our Orphalese group! It is a lot of work, to enter them in. I hate to use a substitute and see it doesn't line up or even match the flow of the deck.
I have to agree with that dividiing the empty decks (without xml files) and taking their pdf or jpg/gifs (If encluded at all) then entering them into the carddata.xml OPT format would be a wonderful but hard chore! But its something that needs to be done.
How about if we post what deck we are doing, and then when someone else wants to do a xml for a deck they could check the DECK thread to see what deck is being worked on??? When Richard returns, we can bother him with all of this! (Like maybe have a special XML thread/Topic button?)
(Don't cha just love our King? We bug him and he removes our bugs! LOL!)

Okay....I start on Metrosexual now:)
Just to make my view clear:
It is great that people contribute with decks. It is also Great when they can contribute with cardnotes in that format they can manage.
None of you must feel that you have done a lesser job because we start this project, and if we manage to get up a big usergroup, maybe we then can feel more like a working community which will benefit us all true more activ posting in the forum, and not only from the usal suspect:)
