Hi Richard,
I just installed 6.5.
Here are a few of the problems that I'm experiencing.....
I cannot view the card notesfor any deck.
I cannot keep the same deck if I right click on the deck.
Is this a problem of win 98, or something else going on in my system?
Thanks,
Marvin

Popup Notes in 6.5

Hi Marvin,
There have been quite a few changes to the way pop-up notes work in version 6.5, the main ones are:
1) You can now associate two different sets of notes for each deck. This allows you to have one set of notes for Little White Book type information which relates to the deck, and another set of personal notes. These personal notes are stored in a different file than the LWB notes, i.e. PersonalCardData.xml instead of CardData.xml.
2) You can have a different set of notes for the card meanings when the cards are reversed than when they are upright.
The reason you can't see the notes is probably because you are Personal mode rather than LWB mode. This is my fault because by an oversight I made Personal the default, it should have been LWB. Nobody will have any Personal notes to start with so there are probably a few people wondering where their pop-up notes have gone!
You can change back to LWB mode by launching the Card Notes form, which is now at the bottom of the My Decks menu. Use the button at the top to toggle the mode between the two options.
You will also see that on the form there are two tabs, and on each tab two boxes, so you have space to add notes for LWB Upright, LWB Reversed, Personal Upright and Personal Reversed. The pop-up notes are colour coded too: LWB notes are yellow (as before) and Personal notes are pink.
You can also toggle between the two modes by using Ctrl+F8. Remember that F8 toggles the pop-up notes between on and off. The header at the top of the Card Notes form gives you both pieces of information: whether you are in LWB or Personal mode, and whether pop-up notes are on or off.
I hope this helps clarify the situation with the pop-up notes!
Cheers
Richard

Hi Marvin,
I am not sure what you mean by I cannot keep the same deck if I right click on the deck - could you explain that a bit more?
If the + and - keys don't seem to be working it is probably because nothing in the program is currently selected. If you click on the deck, or any of the cards, it will make that the active or selected window and then it will receive any keystrokes you make.
Cheers
Richard
