Categorising Spreads into Folders

Hi All,

There are a couple of parts to this post.

Firstly, I'm keen to know how everybody categorises their spreads into folders. I'm looking to do this for mysElf and would like to know how you all separate your spreads.

And secondly, I love the way that Richard has designed the Spreads download facility so that it saves the spread directly to your Spreads folder and alerts you to say that you've already downloaded it.......BUT what happens if you have shifted the spread into a sub-folder?

Which brings me to the last part of the post - a question on downloads in general (which I'll also post in another section on the forum) but how do you all keep track of what you've downloaded?

regards

I categroise both by type and number of cards, so most spreads end up in at least two locations. This works the best for me. If I eneded up with a lot of spreads I would most likely split each type by numbers of cards. So right now it looks like this.

[general]
YON Spread 3
Celtic Cross 10
[3 Card]
YON Spread
[10 Card]
Celtic Cross

As to how I keep track. I don't really. I do download into the correct number subfolder so it should warn me.

I categorise mostly by the type(s) of cards that I'm reading with. I just added a My Favorites category as these are the spreads/casts that I most often use generally and that I use to check new decks with for look,etc....

Cartomancy
Card Editing
My Favorites
Oracle
Runes
Tarot

If I'm creating a new spread/cast, I usually just save it outside of a folder for ease of access. If I were to get into collecting spreads, I would then subdivide the folders much like Shari does.

How do I keep track of all of them? I don't. I download into the main spread folder, and then edit out any repeats that I might re-download. I have a few hundred spreads (and decks), so this seems to be the easiest way to go (for me).

I hope that this helps........

Later,

Marvin

Thanks for the replies. :-)

Last night I sat down to perform THE task. I ended up with the following categories:

Advice and Choices.
Career.
Daily.
Dreams and Past Lives.
Insight.
Love and Relationships.
Oracle.
Runes.
Tarot.

I've developed a bit of a system to keep track of my downloads which I'll post about in the other thread.
