Spread deck specific

I typed up a note to Richard on the bugs I ran into with the new beta and one of the issues was the deck changing to the 1st deck I used for a spread. I think I figured this one out. It switched to the Prefered Deck. For me I'd rather that option be a selection not a standard. Meaning if I'm creating a spread that I only want to use with a preferred deck. I could check a box. I can only think of a very few times when I would want this. All most all the spreads I do, I want to be able to do with all my decks. For me the majority of the time this would be an additional click, versus and occasional click the other way.

So my vote it to either dump it, or make the standard not tied to a specific deck.

Hi Shari

I just uploaded another cut of the beta to try to fix the specific bugs you mentioned in your email to me. Two in one day - I think it's a record :) Maybe you could see if the reading notes form is working OK now (by the way, I moved it so it is down the bottom of the My Decks list - it hasn't disappeared).

I have also taken on board your suggestion that one should not have to associate a spread with a deck. Actually, because of the way I have set up the new spread form it is necessary to associate each spread with a deck. The deck table is used to contain data about the shape of the deck (ratio of width to height) and the size of the cards in the spread (ratio of card height to screen height). By storing this data it is possible to determine exactly what spreads will look like when they are laid out - before it was always a bit hit and miss.

However, I have added another field to this table - a yes/no field indicating whether the user wants to switch to the deck for the spread. This defaults to no on the Spread Wizard, so unless you check this option for a particular spread the program will behave like before and deal out the spread without switching.

I hope that with these modifications the program makes a bit more sense!

Cheers
Richard
