Price Rise

A couple of people have asked me why I recently raised the price of the program, from 10 GBP to 15 GBP or equivalent.

At the moment the main Orphalese.net website and the Tarot Zone are hosted by an Internet Service Provider on a monthly rental package which allows a certain amount of memory and bandwidth. As more people use the Tarot Zone, especially when exchanging decks and other files, the bandwidth and memory get used up and the website goes slower.

The logical next step would be to upgrade to a dedicated server, i.e. a computer hosted by our ISP that would be exclusively for Orphalese use. This would lead to a faster Tarot Zone capable of having plenty of visitors without slowing down, plus virutally unlimited space for uploads etc. The drawback is that a dedicated server would cost a lot more than the current web hosting package does.

I would like to upgrade to this new solution at least by the middle of next year, and I need to know whether my back-of-envelope calculations make sense. I put the price up to see whether people still think the program is worth unlocking. So far it seems they do, which is good news because a faster Tarot Zone will benefit everyone, and a dedicated server will be a lot more fun for me to play with :)

Anyone who is in two minds about registering the program should bear in mind that by registering now, during the shareware phase of the program's development, you automatically receive a lifetime entitlement to all upgrades.

Thank you all for your support!

Richard

Hi Richard!

The price increase ($30 USD) seems to be well worth it. There is no other software that I have found that comes close to matching the features, and most importantly, the SERVICE that you offer! Keep up the EXCELLENT work!

Many Blessings,
Christine

Hi Richard,

Just a thought. With software running $50.-100.00 USD, $30.00 is still a bargain! With the quality of your product, I was suprised that I could afford it when I first got it! Believe me when I say it would still be a bargain at $60.00 USD!

Take Care,

Marvin

It's still a great bargain. Hope the new server works out!
