In Praise of Orphalese Tarot

I was vividly reminded tonight what a great program this is. I was test-driving a couple of decks for a friend, and decided to try out a new spread while I was at it. Let me repeat: I wanted to try out two new decks, and a new spread, all at the same time. Orphalese Tarot made it as easy as it could be possibly be, I think.

First, it let me browse through different spread definitions until I found one I wanted to try, and then it spread the cards for me with my new deck. Just by pointing at different cards, I could read notes about the card itself, and about its position in the spread. Then, with just a few clicks, I was able to look at the very same spread with the *other* deck, and click back and forth between the decks. This not only gave me a different perspective on the spread, but it gave me an excellent way to compare the two decks, letting the similarities and differences between the decks broaden and deepen the meanings for the cards. I could write notes about the reading and save them without having to switch to another program, and I was able to save an image of the cards in their spread for later reference.

What an amazing tool for learning to read the cards. I only wish I could have used it 20 years ago (gulp!) when I was getting started! These young whippersnappers of today have it too easy! :-)

Cheers,

Cowhead

Hey Marvin,

watch it, I'm an Aussie, you know!!!

Orphalese has come such a long way from the earlier versions. Richard, it is a credit to you. I am particularly enthused about how receptive you are to enhancement requests. This program certainly offers more than any other tarot program on the market. And when you talk price, really, it is less than the price of a Tarot deck. Excellent value.

The Compare Cards feature is probably the most innovative introduction I've seen. It's something that I had started to create an Access db to achieve but got bored at around card 14. Now, I can abandon that project all together.

Richard, you rock!!! Keep up the great work.

Hi There,

Was this from the thought that Austrailians are Crazy? As in eccentric, wild, fun loving, dare taking, etc....? Or Crazy like a fox? Smart, witty, etc.....?

If so, sorry that I didn't elaborate on the subject. If it's something different, please e-mail me and explain....... If I've given offense, I'll apoligise............

Having said that, Hello! Welcome to the OTZ! You won't regret coming!

(Also, I've been told that I'm: Crazy, Nuts, Insane, Eccentric, Offbeat, Marching to a Different Piper/Drummer, (insert one here), especially for enjoying my interest in reading cards.)

Lastly, don't get me started, or I'll make you a deck! (Or Two!)..........

Most of all, Peace!!!!!!!

Later,

Marvin
