I don't know if this is a bug, or a deliberate change in behavior that I just don't understand. (Or something else...)

Scenario: I've dealt some cards, including minors, from a 78-card pack. Then I switch to a 22-card pack, while the cards are still out there.

What happens: All of the dealt cards disappear from the screen. The majors go back into the pack.

What used to happen (I think): As I recall, we *used* to get a message, warning us that we were switching to a smaller deck, and giving us the option to stay with the current deck.

This can be particularly confusing if you open a saved spread what used a bigger deck and then select the smaller one. You get a dialog asking if you want to clear the spread. Even if you answer No, the cards still disappear.

I hope my explanation is intelligible. Please let me know if I can clarify any ot this.

Thanks for bringing this up because there has been a change of behaviour when it comes to switching between decks, and this hasn't been commented on before now.

The way it works now when you switch from a larger deck to a smaller one is as follows: if there are cards out which don't belong in the smaller deck then the cards are all collected before switching. If there are cards out but they are all low value cards that exist in both deck the change goes ahead without collecting the cards up.

On reflection it might be better to reintroduce the warning message in the first scenario, which would allow the user to cancel the switch.

The problem with the message seemingly getting ignored is because two things are happening at once - the change of decks and the clearing of the reading. Obviously there is a conflict that needs to be sorted out.

OK, the next generation beta is now available for download (5.5.01), and includes the corrections to the switching behaviour that you mentioned. When a switch from a larger pack to a smaller pack that requires collecting the cards occurs when a reading has been laid out the user receives:

1) the message asking if they want to collect the card to change deck, which they can cancel (end of story), and if they don't cancel...

2) a message asking them if they want to save any changes to the reading, if there have been any. This is a yes/no dialog with no cancel option but it should be clear that the cards will be collected anyway, they are just being prompted to save changes.
