Help File Released

I am happy to say that I finally finished updating the Help file for version 8.12.1.2. It can be downloaded from the main website at http://www.orphalese.net, under Help. It is only available in English at the moment, until the heroic Orphalese translators can get to work on it.

Can this new Help download run with version 8.7.2.4? I run my program from my USB drive, so this is the version that I use. I just tried F1 and I was directed to the website to download the new file, which I did. I ran the install (which said that it worked, and was very quick), but when I hit F1 I still get directed to the website. (I exited the program and started it up again after it didn't work the first time. Still getting directed to the website.)

Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to reverse a couple of different cards in an existing spread.

Thanks!
Karen :-)

Hi Karen,

The only thing the Help File install does is install the Help File itself, to [Program Files]/Orphalese/Orphalese Tarot/Tarot_En.chm. It doesn't change the program itself so that still does what it did before when you hit F1. If it is not practical to download the latest version (which does launch the Help File when you press F1), I would suggest that you copy the Help File onto your pen drive and then create a desktop shortcut for it. Obviously this will only work when the drive is plugged in but it should mean you can get to it with only a minimal amount of clicking.

Cheers,
Richard

Hey Karen,

I just realised I didn't answer your specific question about the spreads.

Do you mean you want to have it so that the cards that appear all the time in a specific position in a certain spread are reversed, each time the spread is dealt out with new cards? If so that is not something you can do, I am afraid I hadn't anticipated people wanting to do that.

Or do you want to reverse a couple of the cards in a saved spread (what I would normally refer to as a "reading")? I don't think the program lets you do that either but you could very easily achieve it by editing the saved reading manually. They .reading files all have an XML format. You would just need to edit it with a text editor and change the Reversed property for that position from 0 to 1.

Cheers,
Richard
