A couple of days ago I uploaded the latest version of the program, version 8.12. The big changes in this are:
Spreads - It should be much easier to browse, download and upload spreads. You can also do a much more specfic search, searching for text anywhere in the spread notes, not just the name.
Pop-up Notes - Ditto.
User profiles - These are now much easier to browse, you don't have to click the "view profile" button every time you want to look at one.
These improvements were pending for a long time. Now I have got them done I can work on the new and fully updated Help File. Watch this space!

It used to be that whenever I opened the programme I got the option to "update" - I don't any more, and when I went to download only a 424 kb file came down.... What am I doing wrong ? (I am a paid up registered user...)

The Update button within the program has been gone for a long while now. It used to be part of the "Tarot Zone" window when the "Tarot Zone" existed as a separate website for registered users and was viewed through a browser built into the program.
The small download is a new thing, however. A couple of months ago I had to reinstall Windows and all the software I use regularly. That was when I realised that the download arrangement I had on the Orphalese Tarot website was rather out of date. It involved the user having to download a zip file which contained a small setup file and a cab file. They then had to unzip this and double-click the setup program to get it going. I have changed it so it is more in keeping with the way other websites work. Basically the download just consists of the setup program. When this is run it downloads everything else from the website. I also took the opportunity to digitally sign all the files while I was at it, in order to avoid the very scary looking messages about "unknown publishers" appearing.
I hope this clarifies it. If you double-click the downloaded file it should install normally.

Oh. WELL - I just did and it said: The Procedure entry point GetNativeSystemInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll....
Um ? I am at least on 8.5. It could be a LOT worse.

Sorry to hear you are getting that message. Could you let me know what version of Windows (including which Service Pack if possible) you are trying to install the program on? Thanks!

I have it installed.... It works fine - I just can't move up a level !
Win2000Pro, SP - I have them all - 3, I think.... (I WILL get around to putting it on my XP machine and mu Vista one in the end, but I need to take it OFF another and I don't think I have that one any more, so....)

It looks like Windows 2000 is not compatible with .NET 4, which is something I hadn't realised before now. I have updated the website so it doesn't mislead people about this. I seem to remember that Windows 98 ceased to be compatible with the .NET platform around 2008, so it would seem that Microsoft figures ten years is about the right length of time before an operating system is no longer supported (.NET 4 came out last year). I am glad you have got two other machines anyway!
BTW, if you need any help with your registrations just contact me through the website and I will be happy to help.

Ah. Why does this not surprise me. OK - installed and registered on the XP machine - no trouble at all. Thanks. I can have three, right ? (so I can put it on the one I use in Canada when I get over there.) Luckily the registration showed that the first machine I had it on I must have FINALLY taken it off. Excellent that it gives that information - thanks.

On another issue. I plan to add the programme to my machine in Canada, where I have missed it terribly. I downloaded the setup file - which says it is some 6 MB - but the file that came down is only 425 kb. I am guessing it thinks it will do the rest on line - but I am on a dodgy connection over there....
But it surely shouldn't say it is a 6Mb file when that isn't what downloads ? And is there a way to download the whole file so I could (if it won't work from the little one) download the big one onto my SO's lappie in a hotspot and copy it across ?

Yes, the download now consists of a small executable which in turn downloads everything it needs for the installation. I think this is generally better because it results in fewer mouse clicks for the user. I see your point though so I have added back links to the zip files too, they are somewhere near the foot of the downloads page. I also took the opportunity to sort out those file size labels.
