Hi Richard!

I downloaded the beta and am getting a registration requirement each time I access Orphalese. Also, I can't access my user profile to update it.

Thanks for all you do!

Christine

Hi Christine,

What happens when you press the Register Now button? If there is an error registering a message should appear in the window of the registration form.

If you are going back and forth between using the current version and the beta you will be asked to register each time, because the version number is different between the two programs. Registering the beta overwrites the current registration details and vice versa.

I know you have been using the program for a long time, but for those who might not know it user details are stored on the Orphalese database, including the number of machines the program has been registered on etc. You only need to register once and this entitiles you to all future upgrades, but the process of clicking on the Register Now button is a formality you have to do with each upgrade to keep the database up to date.

Let me know about that message!

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard,

No, I don't get an error, the registration is accepted and everything (so far except for being allowed to update my user profile) seems okay. A couple of thoughts: What if I redownload and reinstall the beta? Also, before I originally did the beta I copied all the files to another directory I call Orphalese Holding, just in case. . . could this be the problem? I use a desktop shortcut to access Orphalese, should I build a new shortcut?

Thanks for the help!

Christine

Hi Christine,

I know I have taken a while in replying to this, it is not because I have forgotten about it, just that nothing occurs to me. I can't think of any reason taking a backup would make any difference. You could double check where the short cut is pointing though - maybe you are switching between two versions of the program without realising it?

Did you try downloading afresh and what happened? With the user profile, when you say you can't update, do you mean that you see the locked padlock icon and you can't navigate to the page, or do you mean that you try to update but your changes are not saved?

BTW, what was the beta before the weekend is now the current version anyway.

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard!

I knew you didn't forget . . . that's not you! Anyway, I WAS able to update my user profile - take a look and meet a member of my family. Quite honestly, it was probably my fault. I'll use the excuse of chemo brain - but since that is a side effect that interfers with short-term memory - I can't quite remember what is was that I forgot! .-)

Anyway, I'll work on my other problem and with the help of darling hubby (I DO remember him .-) ), we will figure it out.

Again, and always, THANK YOU!

Many Blessings,

Christine

Hi Richard!

At your suggestion, I redownloaded and all the problems are gone!

Thanks!

Christine
