Suggestion regarding Personal Notes popup

Post by davep »

Would it be possible to combine the Personal Notes I make on the cards of each deck into a single popup? So that if I make personal notes on the 6 of Coins in three different decks for instance, I could see all the notes in the same popup, no matter which deck is active?

I'm returning to the Tarot after a very long hiatus and am really enjoying Orphalese. Thank you to everyone involved!

Hi Davep, I am glad you are enjoying the program. The change to the card notes sounds like an interesting idea, as far as I can see it would mean having a third set of notes you could view or edit. So you would have LWB notes and Personal notes which are different for each deck, and then Global notes which could come from a file stored in the deck folder root. I am going to add it to the list of ideas to possibly include in the next big development phase (which will be next summer). Cheers!

Just to follow up, it took longer than I thought but I just released a new version of the program that has this feature. If you set the program to use "Universal Notes" you always see the same set of notes, no matter which deck you are using. Any edits you make will show up in every other deck. This is new in version 10.2.

If you upgrade to the new version to begin with there won't be any such notes, but you could use any existing set of notes as a starting point by copying the file from the deck it is in, placing it the main decks folder, and renaming it "UniversalCardData.xml". If you do this make sure the program is not running at the time because the file you are copying might get overwritten by the blank file in the program's memory.
