Suggestions from a Blind user

Good day.

I am very happy with the Orphalese Tarot program I have purchased. I plan to use it on my laptop. However, my sight is very poor, so it is difficult to navigate the program with a mouse. I have a few suggestions that might help other users' experience of the program. (I hope that I am not the first BVI individual to comment on this program!)
-If the developers would care to test the program's accessibility for themselves, they may use the "NVDA" screen reader, which is what I also use on my laptop.

Suggestions:
-Hotkey to access the main menu (usually right clicking on the deck). The options in the main menu read fine, however there is no hotkey to access it.
-Ability to output a reading to the clipboard, or a text box? For an example, I used a Celtic Cross spread. I went into the Reading Wizard. Then, I used the 'RTF' button and Copied the readings from the Reading Wizard.
--This seems a bit much. Would it be possible to generate the Reading Wizard output in the background after a spread is accessed, and then copy the whole to the clipboard?

Keep up your great work on the program!

Cheers,

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Actually I think you are the first BVI user to comment on the program's usability. The idea of a simple copy to clipboard function for the whole reading sounds like it would be quite easy to include, and as you point out it would save the user from quite a few operations compared with using the RTF box. I wasn't anticipating doing anything more on the program until the summer (besides bug fixes) but I have put this on the list.

As far as launching the main menu goes, actually there is a hot key if you are using a Windows keyboard. The context menu key (between Alt Gr and Control on my keyboard) should bring up the main menu. The drawback with this is that the deck needs to have the focus for this to work, which might not be the case. You should be able to give the deck the focus by pressing Control-D, as long as the application itself is activated. You can also move the focus between the cards by pressing Control and Tab.

Cheers,
Richard
