I wanted to have a look at the decks in the Deck Exchange, but I cannot come in. My Error is:
Deck Server Service is not installed or couldn´t get started (I have translate it from german, hope its right).
Do someone have an idea of that? Many thanks.

Stephanie

Have you upgraded to version 8.5? There was a change made in the Exchange server and you need the newest version to reach it.

Hello hermit,
yes, I did it before. Themfore I have unistalled my old version and installed the new, how it was explained to do so.
Do you think its a theme of the registration? My oldest was in 2005 and I have to quitt it, cause I have had with the upgrade four of them. But now I have only the three allowed for the single place license. An now it wont work with deck exchange, seufz.
regards
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
It definitely isn't anything to do with the registration. You can reregister as many times as you like on different machines.
The DeckService is a Windows Service which is installed with the program, that lets users share decks on the Deck Exchange. Do you remember any error messages when you were installing the program?
You can check if it is installed and running by going into Windows Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services. There should be one called "Orphalese Deck Service". Is it there? If it is there, select it and press "Restart Service" (I hope you can recognise these terms in translation). This should restart it if it has stopped.
Please let me know what happens!
Cheers,
Richard

Hello Richard,
thats ominous. At the services I havent found the Deck Server Service. Under Administration / Software I found, that I have the version 8.4, although I´ve made the update.
I will try the update once more tomorrow, maybe thats the mistake.
If it wont work again then, I will come back to you.
Many thanks-
greetings
Stephanie :)

Hello,
now I`m sure, something ist wrong. I can´t install Orphalese to get the update. My error is:
An exception occured while uninstalling. This exception will be ignored and the uninstall will continue. However, the application might not be fully uninstalled after the uninstall is complete.
And so it is - its not uninstall. So I have yet version 8.4
What can I do now? For ideas many thanks.
best regards
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
You still have 8.4 on your computer, and it works?
Have you tried to uninstall it again? What happens when you do?

Hi Shari,
it won´t work aktiv before. I can see my card Decks I´ve searched out of the tarotzone last year. But I didn´t need the program for a longer time, so I didn´t know, that it can´t work anymore.
I tried a few times to uninstall and even got the same message.
best regards
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
Normally when you get an error with the install or uninstall there is a button which you can press which gives you some more details. Is there any such button in this case?
If there isn't, you could try taking a look in the Event Log. Windows Installer would probably log an error message in there giving a clue as to why it can't remove the program.
Cheers,
Richard

Just another thought...The fact that you can see the decks you installed last year does not mean that the installation failed. Uninstalling the program never affects decks, spreads or card data that you have added since.
The reason you got the message is probably because Windows Installer is trying to remove the Deck Service, and it can't because this was never installed.
If the program still appears in the Add/Remove programs list, you can try to remove it using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Here is a description of how it works in German:

Hope this helps..
