File Exchange issues with 8.5.1.2

I am using 8.5.1.2 on WinXP.

With 8.4, when opening the File Exchange, there was no program icon on the task bar. Even when minimizing the FE, the program icon stayed with Orphalese itself. And when I hid Orphalese, the FE would be hidden also. This was very convenient.
--> With 8.5, opening the FE puts a program icon on the task bar, and it stays there as long as I remain connected, whether Orphalese is visible or hidden. This is very inconvenient.

With 8.4, when opening the File Exchange, the window would open to the same configuration it had when I'd last closed it. I'm refering to the window size, shape and position on the desktop.
--> With 8.5, opening the FE, the window opens maximized no matter how I'd previously set it before closing it. If I restore down, it shrinks to a small shape off to the lefthand side of the desktop - again, it does this no matter how I'd previously set it. Having to re-arrange it each time I open the FE is quickly annoying.

I would prefer the 8.4 arrangement for the FE program icon, and I'd also prefer the FE window to remember the size, shape, position I'd given it. I hope these are minor elements that can easily be restored to how they were previously. *-)

I also want to add that Orphalese is the absolute best Tarot program, and the FE is a wonderful icing on the cake. I've already begun inserting some comments to decks in the new 8.5 FE; I'm sure the new feature will turn out to be very useful.

Forgot to mention another thing: the peer-to-peer page is still inaccessible by browser or through the program.

Thanks for the feedback.

I made those changes to the way the window works because it was more convenient for me. With the way it was before (DE as an "owned form") it would normalise itself automatically if I focussed on a different program and then came back to it, even though it had been maximized. I found this Windows behaviour annoying too. I think another Options form check box is in order...

The peer-to-peer page is accessible if you start from http://www.orphalese.net, then go to Decks, then click on the "Details" link on the third section. I know this is a round-about way but at the moment the only way into the website is by starting at http://www.orphalese.net.

I am glad you are having good experiences with the new DE. I fear some users may not be having such luck, because the server application has been down for several hours at a time on a couple of occasions recently (symptom = decks are listed, but every link returns "user has probably logged off"). I am working on fixing the bugs that are causing that, but I don't think I am quite there yet.

Cheers,
Richard
