Hi Kwaw,

mycomputer = Windows Explorer, right? I don't know what GIMP is but I am guessing it is some image processing software.

I can't think of any reason Explorer would not show files, unless they were hidden or system files. Are you sure you aren't confusing two folders with similar names? I am sure if you work out why Explorer isn't showing the files then the Orphalese problem will solve itself.

Cheers
Richard

Are you using Windows or Linux? GIMP is a Linux photo program that does work with Windows, but thought I should make sure (not sure if Orphalese can even run on Linux).

This is for windows.
Open the folder and select details from the View menu.
Select: Tool>Folder Options>View (tab)
In the Advanced Settings:
Select: Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck if checked: Hide extensions for known file types.

Then come back here and tell us the entire file name for the jpg's.
Click on a file, hit F2 key, Ctrl-C to copy that, and then paste the entire file name into a message.
GIMP could read a jpg no matter how it was actually named, but Orphalese wouldn't.

Ok.... in Vista
Start>Control Panel> Click on Appearance and Personalization, click on Show Hidden Files or Folder, select Show hidden files and folders. Remove the checkmark from Hide extensions for know file types.

The access the folder and do the F2 copy and paste the file name in here.

Also double check you are accessing the location you stated above in GIMP.

Shari
p.s.: as Richard said if the files exist they exist, so either where you are looking at them in GIMP is different, or they files are not named correctly, and for some reason Windows is hiding them.

Done.

C:Program FilesOrphaleseOrphalese TarotPacksLiberT

(This folder is Empty – according to explorer and orphalese)

Also double check you are accessing the location you stated above in GIMP.

Yep…same location, files also display in Xnview and IrFan View, so they definitely exist and are in that location.

p.s.: as Richard said if the files exist they exist, so either where you are looking at them in GIMP is different, or they files are not named correctly, and for some reason Windows is hiding them.

they are named for example 00.jpg, 01.jpg, 02.jpg

So they exist, are there, as far as I can tell are named properly, but for some reason Windows is hiding or not recognising them:(

Anyway, thanks Shari, Richard for your help. I seem to have several problems with graphics ever since I installed IrFanview for some reason.

After changing the settings, you still didn't see any files?
If you right click on the LiberT folder, and select properties (not sure if this is an option in vista) does it tell you the size and how many files are in there?

Maybe someone with Vista can help. I don't have it so I'm kinda at a loss. But if you've told Visata to unhide files it should show what is there.

According to explorer there are 0 files and size is 0.

Vista should be showing them but something isn't working properly I think:(

Thanks for your time Shari/Richard
