Someone wrote to me privately about a bug with the P2P program, and I think it is important to post about it here because it may affect other people.
As Murphy's Law would anticipate, I only have a few hours before I have to be away from my computer for several days, and I don't think it is a good idea to attempt to fix this in a hurry, but I will give the details here...
This is a bug which will affect anyone who has not established a non-default deck folder in the Options form, i.e. people who are using the default which is [Program Files]/Orphalese/Orphalese Tarot/Packs.
The problem arises after you have used the P2P program, when you first go back to using the Tarot program. You get an error the same or similar to the one in the subject line of this post. This is because the program has become confused about where your decks are, which will actually stop you using the tarot program.
The proper solution to this problem, which I will apply when I get back from my travels, will be to make sure that the P2P prototype installs to the same directory as the main program.
In the meantime, if you want to test the prototype and you want to avoid meeting this bug (as you would), the trick is to go into the options form and specify a directory for your tarot decks. It can be exactly the same directory as you are using now (the default one mentioned above), the simple action of browsing to it and selecting it will create a registry setting that will stop the program(s) getting confused about where your decks are.
If you already get this bug and need to fix it, you should delete the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Orphalese/Tarot/DeckFolder
Then you will be able to start the program normally and create the setting by browsing to your decks as described above.
I hope this explanation is clear. I will be logging in from time to time in the next few days so please feel free to post here if this affects you.
Richard
