I am in trouble here. I tried to download the latest version and I could not bring my decks in. It keeps telling me I am limited to 300. I finally pulled a few in but it is not working properly. I did reinstall the 7.6 but can still only bring in a small portion of my decks. I do not understand the error message and how to change the limit. Can you help. I cannot find current user then software then orphalese. Please anyone I am lost without my orphalese.

Hi Baretta,
No worries, I am sure we can resolve this because I remember putting that limit in there. The message comes up when you are trying to establish a folder as your My Decks folder, but you have more than 300 decks. It is an insurance against people accidentally choosing their main directory root or any other directory with a large number of nested subdirectories, because this could completely hang the program while it tried to evaluate your whole computer working out which folders were decks and which were just folders.
Do you really have 300 decks or is the problem that you are seeing the error when you shouldn't be? Also, when exactly are you seeing the error - is it when you launch the program or when you try to do a specific thing?

Yes I really do have more than 300. That is the problem I can only bring my A's into the program. I do not understand where to go to fix it.
I panicked and went back to 7.6 removing the 7.62. and it did not fix the problem
If you need more information please let me know.
HELP!!!! lol
Have a wonderful night

Hiya Cisco,
Yeah, removing 7.6.2 would make no difference because that limit has been there since about two or three years ago. You would have to go really primitive :)
I seem to remember putting that limit in, and then thinking well no-one is going to read that for a couple of years! so I gues I was right. Congratulations on (maybe) being the first!
At the moment the only way to change the limit is through the registry hack I described earlier, so you can either wait a little while until I do another version of the program with an interface control for changing the limit, or you can breath deep and get into the registry. You might want to look for a tutorial on the subject if you never did it before, and follow the advice you will inevitably read about taking a back-up of the registry first. Alternatively if you know a twelve year old you can just get them to do it for you .-). The key you want to edit is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREORPHALESETAROTFolderLimit.
The setting needs to be any normal decimal number, i.e. 500 or whatever.
Cheers
Richard

Hi Baretta,
Version 7.6.2.2 which I just released should give you a way out of the woods here. There is a new control on the Program (2) tab of general settings which will let you raise that limit to anything up to 1,000. Give me a shout when you reach 1,000 and I will raise it again .)
