Dear Richard,
I had a broader clarification question as I continue testing V11. While reviewing the interface, I’ve noticed several functions that appear in the UI but do not currently seem to be functional.
For example, features like ‘Send Email’ no longer appear to work and may be deprecated, as they were also non-functional in V10. There are also features such as ‘Deck Search’ that appear present but may be inactive, unfinished, or intended for future activation.
Before creating tasks for these, I wanted to ask whether you have (or could share) a list or general guidance on which functions are intentionally deprecated versus which ones are expected to be functional or completed later. That would help me avoid creating unnecessary tasks and focus only on items you’d like tracked in Asana.
Let me know how you would like to proceed.
Regards,
David

For anyone testing the Version 11 beta I have just brought out a new release. It fixes a bug with the registration process which meant that machine names were often stored as new entries in the "My Machines" list even though it was actually the same machine as one you had previously registered, leading to lots of duplicated rows. A side-effect of fixing this bug is that the first time you install the new version of the beta it will ask you to unlock the program again. It should however only do this once and from then on it should not ask you again.

It is coming along well. The new online Help for V11 looks great. I registered with no problem. Thanks.

I've now downloaded the V11, and I'm still frustrated because all my CardData files need redoing to try and make the notes more readable. It's taken me a long time, since 2009, to collect card notes, and the paragraph breaks are all gone. Please, for the sake of my sanity, can you rectify this glitch in V11? I know I have mentioned it before, and I don't know the quickest and least time-consuming way to get these notes back to how they should be.

Hi Carol,
I am really sorry, I must have overlooked where you previously reported this issue with line breaks disappearing. As I've been at pains to point out, you really do need to make a back up copy of your decks and other files before you use them with version 11. If you've opened a deck in version 11 and gone through all the cards, then they will all contain formatting information and there isn't any easy way to go back to them just being in plain text.
In order to investigate the issue I would need to you to send me an example of the card notes you were using in version 10 that you HAVEN'T opened yet in version 11. Then I can try opening the deck on my computer and see if I can reproduce this problem with the disappearing line breaks. I am guessing there must be something about the way they are formatted to begin with that is causing this to happen, perhaps you have edited them in an external word processor program and it has used a different kind of line termination character than the ones used in the program. Could you upload an example CardData.xml here for me to look at? As I say, it would have to be from a deck that you HAVEN'T opened in version 11 yet.
Thanks!

Hi again Carol, I think I have been able to resolve the problem after someone else sent me a CardData.xml file with this issue. I am hoping that if you download the newest version, 11.0.1.2, you will find everything is back to how it should be. Please let me know if that isn't the case!

Hi Carol, I can confirm that the line breaks are working now in the V11.0.1.2 and as an added bonus, you can make the text size and font different. I know I prefer it to be a tad bit bigger then the V10.
I just opened one of my larger card data files, and everything looks wonderful.
Thank you Richard!

Hi Richard
I'm so sorry for the late response. Thank you so much for making the corrections necessary for my files to read more coherently. I have now downloaded and installed V11.0.1.2. I have always made copies of my files, and I had been looking at the files by using Notepad++, and they were visible, as I had been seeing them through versions 1 - 10. Thank you for keeping my Orphalese experience thoroughly enjoyable. I love this programme,
and as my brain fog comes and goes a lot now, it's so helpful to have the card meanings on file and ready to use, without fear of making the wrong assumptions.
Ever grateful
Carol
