Dear Richard,
Hope you are having a joyful and festive Holiday Season. Not sure what you celebrate this time of year, but I am doing well and have enjoyed quality family time since Thanksgiving which is the beginning of the Holiday streak in the US (although some like to include Halloween :)). I am lucky to have a family that stays connected. We live on a farm and my cousins and their kids are mostly finding homes near each other and most are in the state of Michigan (with a few out of state). Our Thanksgiving gathering (our largest together) totalled 42 with two families who could not make it (combined that was 10 more relatives).
I wanted to follow up on the Beta Ver 11 with a couple questions. I understand that not all functions are working and usually I can tell by there being no response to the command. However, I was wondering if you had a list that might clarify the non-working items so I am clear on the matter. But if not, that is OK. That may be more work to produce than necessary. It is just a thought.
One thing I noticed is your statement that "The main functional difference is the program now allows pre-formatting of all notes, whether in pop-ups or when exported to RTF." I see the "lasso" function works (I like it) and the special "alignment" functions work. I was wondering if all the functions for creating a reading and exporting to rtf, etc.. are working or activated? I am having troubles changing template settings.
Lastly, when I try to change the default font for notes in the Settings/Card tab/ I see it change the font on the settings tab display, but no change to the notes is made in my Osho Zen Tarot Deck. It does change the font "style" on other deck notes but not the "font". It seems to be acting weird for me. Just wondered if there is an issue here or am I doing something wrong?
Wishing you the best this Holiday Season and look forward to a great New Year in 2026!
David

Hi David,
Happy Christmas! I am just about to go back to England for about ten days. It's a much smaller gathering than you describe. I'll be staying with my Mom who's now 92, but still going strong, and also catching up with my brother and sister and a few other old friends.
The situation with the program is that since the last update I have fixed quite a few bugs. Under normal circumstances I would want to bring out a new version so you could see what's been fixed and what is still pending (very likely because I've overlooked it or am not aware of it). I don't want to bring out a new version just before I go on vacation though, so I suggest we wait until the start of January for that. That will also give me some time to work on the program over the holidays, on my laptop. Maybe you could make a list of all the things you see that aren't working and then cross off any that are fixed in the new version in January? That would give us a clear idea of what's outstanding. In principle everything should be working in the new version, so where you see a button that does nothing, or anything else that doesn't work, please make a note. It could be that it's malfunctioning or it could be that I have just overlooked it and forgotten that it isn't coded.
As far as changing the default font goes, that wouldn't affect any notes you've already made and formatted. It is just supposed to decide what font is used by default when you create a new set of notes (that is how it is supposed to work anyway).
I am already quite excited by the way the new version is looking, and I'm sorry you'll have to wait a little bit longer to see it. I have made quite a few aesthetic improvements to the interface, as well as fixing several bugs as I mentioned. In the meantime, happy holidays and I'll take the opportunity of wishing the same to anyone else who reads this thread. 2026 is going to be a good year for the Orphalese Tarot!

Happy Holidays! Hope Everyone gets to enjoy a bit of cheer & joy this season.
Looking forward to 2026. I've been having computer problems and need to replace my PC, so haven't been able to do much testing, needing to stick to what I have to do. Hoping to have a new system early in 2026.

Hope the Holidays are going well for everyone. We are at the end of some icy weather. Power has been out for many people the last couple days. Ours is out now but we have a very nice generator. Living in the country is wonderful, but we often have power outages. They are usually for just a few hours or up to one day, but on occasion, especially in the winter, we can have outages for several days. We care for horses and need power to keep the water from freezing. So the generator is an essential need for us.
I am looking forward to the next iteration of OT V11. I have been working on a checklist and testing out each feature, one-by-one. It has been a challenge figuring out how to make a detailed checklist but I used ChatGPT and had it review the Help Manual from the program and give me a master blueprint of the program. I am learning a lot more about the program and its features. Once you make the new version available, I will go down the list of issues I discover and see if the new version has corrected the problem. Then I will send you my results.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and looking forward to 2026!

Hi David, I hope your power situation stabilized. We had a big nationwide outage a few months ago and it made everyone realize how much we take the power supply for granted, even the cell phone networks were down for almost a whole day. Anyway, I just uploaded the new version of the beta and I am pretty happy with how it is all coming together. I have made a few aesthetic changes to give the program a more integrated look and feel and I also paid a lot of attention to the reading template and how it can be personalized. You might want to do a "clean install" to see how it would work when newly installed. To do that you could delete the file ReadingTemplate.xml in your Readings folder and press the "Reset Defaults" button in the Options form in order to pick up the default fonts etc. Please take your time and let me know how you get on!

Hello Richard,
Weather is better here, but forecast is warmer temperatures with rain and freezing rain in this week's forecast. Hopefully, it will be not be bad.
I downloaded your new version 11.0.0.8. It was a clean install and it is looking good. I will work with it and get back to you shortly.
Thanks so much.
David

Hi David,
Just to say thanks for your emails and I'll look through each of the issues this weekend. At a quick glance I can see that some of the points you raise are bugs and some of them are areas where the "correct" functioning of the program isn't really clear. Some of them I am not sure about and I'll have to look at them in more detail. Anyway, I will aim to get back to you with a point by point list by the end of this weekend.
Cheers

Much appreciated. Asana seems to be working well as a project management tool, and I’ve really enjoyed being part of the V11 development. The process has been helpful for my tarot studies and for shaping my plans to create a tarot business.
