Re: Re: Re: Re: READING EXCHANGE Partners for Reading Circle
Well, this is good. Since I have already done his reading and is saved in my OTZ program, I will post later today. Btw, since no question was posed he is getting a general or whatever the cards have to say. Mwhahahah, that could be interesting.

Reading for Baroli from Cowhead, posted here by her kind permission,
Using the Pamela A and Haindl decks
June 5, 2006
Thanks for letting me do this reading for you, Baroli. It has been over a year since I read for someone else, so I hope it isn’t too terribly lame. I’m very much out of practice.
You wrote, “... a career reading would be fine. I want to start a website and do Tarot readings and would like to know if this is going to work for me or should I pass and stay amateur.” The Three Blessings spread would not have been my first choice for a career reading, but it might work out. Any suggestions I make here will relate more to how you make your decision, rather than what the decision might (or should) be. I hope you find at least some of it interesting.
I initially did the spread with the Haindl deck, and then switched to the Pamela A (a very early printing of the Waite-Smith deck) for another perspective.
So, after a shuffle, here are the cards I dealt:
1) The Hope that will see you through: Death
2) The Inspiration that will encourage you: 5 of Cups
3) The Guidance that will help you find your way: 10 of Swords
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Honestly, my first reaction was, “I’m SO glad I’m doing this for an experienced reader!” I can only imagine how gloomy those card titles would look to a non-reader. “My three blessings are death, disappointment, and ruin?” Oy!
If this were a predictive reading, that could look a little (okay, a lot) discouraging. But this isn’t a predictive reading. We’re looking for blessings that will help you make decisions about your career. So, I don’t see these cards as warnings. I see them as reminders of your resources and experiences.
I’ll address the cards individually in a minute, but it seems to me that these cards share an important characteristic: They address serious issues and experiences, and they all contain details that can and should help sustain hope. As in real life, however, those details are sometimes easy to overlook.
THE BLESSING OF HOPE
I think most readers will agree that the Death card usually does not refer to physical death, but to a transformative change. The suggestion is that one stage of your life is coming to an end, possibly an emphatic end. This doesn’t need to be a bad thing. in fact, you may be eager for it to happen. I suspect you are. This card did come up in the position of Hope, after all. The other cards seem to be hinting that there could be some serious unpleasantness in your past that you want to move beyond, but even if that is true, this doesn’t need to be seen as just a flight from something negative. It can also be a calm, open, positive embrace of inevitable and necessary change
THE BLESSING OF INSPIRATION
In the Haindl deck, this card shows five cups on almost barren ground. In the Waite-Smith deck, there are five cups but three of them have been spilled. How can this be inspiring or encouraging? I see this as a reminder to keep one’s perspective and see that all is not lost, even if things look bad. In the Haindl card, the ground is dry but there is a trickle of sustaining water going into one of the cups. In Smith’s illustration, three are spilled but two remain standing. If the person in the picture would turn around and look at the two cups, they would also see a path leading away from the situation.
How can one derive inspiration from that? By remembering that experience can come at a high price, but it can also help you in the future. Learn and remember, and then move on.
When I was looking at the 5 of Cups in the Waite-Smith deck for this reading, I suddenly saw it in a way that had never occurred to me before. I don’t know if this is a big intuitive leap or just a belly-flop, so take it for whatever it’s worth. It occurred to me that the scene in this card could somehow express a combination of the 2 of Cups and the 3 of Cups. The three spilled cups remind of the 3 of Cups inverted, and as such may refer to a disappointment or falling-out with someone in one’s family or social group. The two standing cups may echo the 2 of Cups. So, as a scene, this might suggest that although there may be some social or familial conflict going on, you should look back and recognize that there is still someone there who is standing solidly behind you. I can’t explain why, but that seems important to me here. It feels like a reminder that you have a valuable friend or partner who will encourage you. That certainly fits with the theme of inspiration.
THE BLESSING OF GUIDANCE
In the Haindl deck, the 10 of Swords shows a city in ruins. The image in the Waite-Smith deck is even more alarming. So where are we supposed to find guidance here?
Let’s look at the Haindl card first. The city is ruined, but there are paths leading up and away from it. Those paths are sometimes pierced by swords, but they are not blocked. One might read this to mean that you should use tools of the sword, such as mental clarity and decisiveness, to help you find the path. Those swords are not barriers, they’re guide posts. On the horizon, the air is clear and bright.
The 10 of Swords in the Waite-Smith deck is brimming with suggestions. First, the sky is dark but it looks like the storm is breaking. It’s a common observation, but it bears repeating. This card seems to reinforce the Death card in some ways. For one, the sky seems to be an echo of the rising sun in trump 13. even when things look most grim, there can be hope. It may also echo one of the messages of the 5 of Cups, reminding us to use our hard-won experience as a guide.
I don’t know if this represents you personally. It may represent someone you know, someone who has weathered difficult times and can share that experience with you. I had another somewhat surprising association to another card that may apply here. Look at the Waite-Smith 10 of Swords and examine the hand of the person on the ground. It’s showing the sign of benediction. (This is not always easy to see on newer versions that have been redrawn and recolored, but it is quite clear in early decks.) This reminded me of the Hierophant. (Yes, it’s another intuitive ping. sorry about that.) In this situation, it might be a suggestion to seek guidance from a trusted teacher, or to do things “by the book”.
SUMMARY
It’s easy to assume that blessings must come to us from outside. I think this reading is a reminder that sometimes we earn blessings through our own work, perseverance, and endurance. Such blessings come from within as the rewards of experience, just as others come from friends and loved ones who can share their experiences with us.

Re: Re: READING EXCHANGE for week of June 4th, 2006
Very good Cowhead and I can see I have much to learn, here is my contribution:)
Introduction
This is my first reading and I am doing it for lfeb 5 of June 2006
The spread used is 3 Blessings, the card have I received true ordinary Tarot cards, and then transferred to Orphalese.
The deck used on Orphalese “Tarot of Timeless truth” with authors deck notes, The Pick was from Riders.
The card is not hand picked and is the first ordinary layout.
I have big limitation in English so the notes have to be simple as possible, I hope not to many errors will occur:)
I have no force in Tarot so everything must be taken as it is:)
Card 1: The hope that will se you through. Prince of sword
I have been so lucky that I have seen your first post here in the community. When I got this card, then my mind said yes this is you. The card point out a person with good intelligence, which is honest and have the ability to both be logical, well organized and direct. Your post confirmed all of the above, and in my mind that is a true blessing.
But as with anything else in life, good thing many times come with the possibilities for bad habits, and the card tells you to be aware so your gift don’t develop into egoism and bluntness.
Which bring us to the next card.
Card 2: The inspiration that will encourage you....: Six of Pentacles
This card tells us to re-evaluate our stand. That is always good, because not doing this from time to time will often lead to stagnation or developing off a “bigger egoism”, which will colour our truth. It is always good to to take stock of our own feelings and not compare them to others, because you never know the full story. The card tells about Teaching and Learning which is a life long process, and the person that believe he know it all, will soon experience stagnation and the feeling of falling behind. The ability to listen to other before doing up ones mind is also a good quality.
From your first card, I am sure you have the ability to do this, and that have to be your second blessing.
Card 3: The Guidance That will help you find your way....Ace of wands
This is the card of Creativity. It tells you to use your intelligence (first card) to release your full potential and imagination. From this inspiration you will find optimism and excitement to be a creative force.
Use this force to create something new and exciting in your life and look for new opportunities that might open for you.
If we look at card 1, then this show you have the ability, and if you “live” by card 2, then I am sure you are able to do this, and that must be your third Blessing:)

Re: Re: Re: READING EXCHANGE for week of June 4th, 2006
Thank you so much for this reading - it speaks well of much that's going on in my world right now. Your description of the Prince of Swords is very similar to traits that others have applied to me, for good or bad, and yet I've never thought of putting one of the Princes down as my own significator. This gives me some new things to think about - in a position of hope, it's a pretty profound reminder that I don't have to only use the 'receptive' feminine cards in relationship to myself - even though I'm a woman, I can live in the more positive, projective realm, and right now that's exactly what I need to be doing.
The 6s of all the suits have been popping up all over the place with me lately. My husband and I recently separated and we're working on the legal details now, and my biggest concern has been ensuring that my children and I remain an intact family in spite of the current situation, that the material issues are sorted out fairly, etc. I notice that in the deck you used, the keyword Exchange is at the bottom, and that's interesting to me, since that's what it's all about right now. Exchanging old life for new, the exchange of money, exchanging one home for another - you name it. This has certainly been a learning experience and I'm very mindful of the fact that everything we do is also teaching our children how to handle difficulty in their own lives. It's all pretty scary, but yes, it is inspiring as well - we have the opportunity right now to recreate our lives however we want to, and that's pretty cool!
I was so very, very happy to see that Ace of Wands as my guidance card - I need more fire in my life right now! More energy to get through all this - for awhile I was a bit lost in feeling sad and regretful, and while those things are necessary, they aren't very helpful for getting the things I need to do done. Now that he's physically left the house, I feel - surprisingly to me - a giant relief and weight lifted off my shoulders, and what I want now is to be able to latch into some creative energy to get through all of this transition as well as we can. This card lets me know that I'm not wrong in thinking that that's what's been missing from my life, and what I can expect to have with me now as we proceed. The optimism and excitement you describe are very new feelings for me, and they catch me off guard, but they are a very welcome presence in my life.
Thanks again! This was a great reading.

Using the Revelations Tarot
June 7, 2006
1. The Hope that will see you through
Ace Of Pentacles
Prosperity and abundance in all things physical and material.
Aces are about the suit's energy and its potential for use in your life. The hope you can lean on right now is that you have the potential for material success and security - this is a great foundation for whatever it is you choose to pursue. You don't need to worry about the effect of lack in your vocational endeavours, and anything you're thinking about beginning in the realm of physical projects or financial goals has a good chance of having a positive outcome because you have the energy and means to do the work necessary to bring it to manifestation.
3. The Inspiration that will encourage you.
Knight Of Wands
He smolders of energy. He rides his dragon with confidence and daring.
If there is someone in your life that is energetic, confident and on the move, look to that person for inspiration about how to proceed. If you can't think of someone else, perhaps this is you. The Knight in this deck is riding a fire-breathing dragon, and crackles with fiery energy himself - even if your task isn't simple or without risk, you can be inspired by examples of people who, through sheer will and energetic effort, succeeded in harnassing that energy to get to where they want to go. Now isn't the time to use timid examples as your inspiration - be inspired by bold ideas and people and have confidence in your vision.
3. The Guidance that will help you find your way.
Ten Of Cups
Happiness is found within the family and those whom are dear.
For me, this card is indicating not only the source of your guidance but possibly your motivation as well - the 10 of Cups in this deck shows a family of merfolk swimming - in the upright position they are swimming toward the light above. They are surrounded by 10 cups but their focus is on one another. This tells me that the quest for happiness isn't found by simply chasing down things that make you happy, but rather is found when one focuses on the people they love. Whatever you do, turn to your loved ones for support and guidance and remember to take them into account as you set any goals for yourself.
With the hope of material success, the inspiration of confidence and will, and guided by your love of those in your life, you have a very strong trio of blessings here to take with you as you begin or continue any project that's important to you. With these blessings surrounding you, now is a great time to make your dreams into reality.

Reading for Thomas
Deck: Tarot of Prague
06/04/2006
1. The hope that will see you through
2. The inspiration that will encourage you.
3. The guidance that will help you find your way.
With this deck I pulled: 10 of Cups, 7 of Pentacles, and 10 of Wands
1. The hope that will see you through is your family. What a wonderful thing to sustain anyone through their journey. They are very important to you. No matter where you are, what you are doing your family or the concept of family keeps you going and is a constant companion. If you don't have a family you will, if you do have a family they are the center of your life.
2. The inspiration that will encourage you is your career. Whatever you have done in your career, whatever you have built up, you can pretty much sit back and watch it run itsself. You have worked hard all your life and it is time to relax and let the career go on its own. watch it grow.
3. Now you may wonder how the *&>()< am I supposed to do that? The guidance that will help you find your way is the 10 of Wands. First of all, you are a workaholic. You feel that if you want it done right, do it yourself. Not so anymore. Your family is more important. Delegate, delegate, and delegate the responsibilites and workload you have. By doing that, you will then have the time to relax, to enjoy, and contemplate your wonderful wonderful family.
I get the feeling that you really do want to spend more time with your family, but feel it is impossible because of work constraints. You really do need to delegate your work responsibilty more. Don't feel you have to do it all yourself because you think noone can do it right except you. Your coworkers and employees are more than capable. Life is too short to be constantly working your brains out. Go out with your wife and kids or significant other and have fun, eat pizza, get drunk!!!
I hope this is somewhat close. I enjoyed doing this for you.
