Re: Collections ... a great new feature
What is the Collections feature used for? How does one use it?
If I hit "New" in the Collections Wizard, it just opens up an Explorer window for an empty Orphalese Tarot/Collections folder. Tapping on a deck name in the list in the middle doesn't do anything except highlight the deck name in blue, presumably selecting it for some unknown action.
I am not good at figuring out cryptic programs, obviously. There is no help file or wiki page that explains this at all, at least none that I've found. Help!

Re: Collections ... a great new feature
Hi Gisela,
You are so right! Just recently it has really been dawning on me that I need to write a proper up-to-date help file. I set up the Help Wiki the summer before last because I figured, lazily, that other people could do the job for me. That obviously hasn't happened so now I am planning to get down to the job and produce a proper help file when the summer comes around. I work different hours in the summer and it is the only time I can really devote myself to projects like this.
Anyway, the collections wizard is about associating any group of decks together so that the program knows there is some kind of link between them in the affections or ideas of the user. This enables two things:
a) First you can "load up" a collection. This lets you click through all the decks in that collection one at a time by using the left and right arrows that appear on the deck (the ones that normally let you navigate back to the last loaded deck).
b) When you are using the compare cards feature you can load up all the decks in any collection with a single click, rather than selecting those decks one by one.
The mechanism for doing this is mostly as described, just that your description was missing the last stage. To add the selected deck to the collection you need to drag it with the mouse into the list on the right. When you are done, just close the window. The collection will contain the decks you have added. You can change their order by moving them up or down the list (again by dragging).
Cheers,
Richard

Re: Collections ... a great new feature
Thank you, Richard, I truly appreciate your responsiveness through the years that I've been using your tarot program. Sometimes life makes me drift away for a time, but I always come back to wonderfulness from you.
May you (and your summer project schedule) be blessed!
Hugs
